Everything is so perfect here. The food is superb and sitting on the delightful vine covered Terrace is the icing on the cake. The service is excellent. This is a family run restaurant and contrary to a previous reviewer, has not changed hands in the fourteen tears we have been coming here. It is excellent value for money with out of the ordinary dishes for your pleasure.

We pitched up here, latish, one evening when we'd not been able to find food in villages near our holiday home. They were quickly able to accommodate us on the busy Terrace which, whilst not the prettiest in Ceret, is nicely located with a view of the village walls and we were able to see the Sardana being performed to the local band which gave the meal a lovely Catalan feel.
We ordered the scallops escalavide and magret de canard which were both excellent although the former was rather small for a main course if you've not had a starter. I have to say we did get a victor food-envy when we saw the enormous salads heading off to other tables. With desserts (great cafe gourmand!) and a carafe of rose we paid €60.

Catalan cuisine makes for an interesting and diverse menu. We had an excellent, fish entrées and main courses. Lovely crisp house rosé. Apéros, 3 courses and wine for two under €100. Ignore the unprepossessing frontage; skip the odd décor in the interior; and go to the lovely bamboo outdoor Terrace at the back (plenty of shade if that's what you prefer). Service was friendly and able to explain key dishes in English when our French faltered.

We had two dinners here in the month of September. In both cases, we walked in (before 8:00) without a reservation and were seated immediately. The place was always crowded; servers were constantly in motion. Their pizzas -- large selection! - are thin-crust. At both dinners, the two of us shared a salad and a pizza and ate very well. (We also enjoyed the musicians who played there both nights, in the style of Django Reinhart.)

The pastries are to die for, the display mouth-watering and the warmth of the owners make a stop at the Patisserie Duclos a must for anyone visiting Ceret.

This little 'shop' looks very pretty from the outside and its interior has a whole wall of tea caddies in serried ranks. The tasteful decor was just a hint of the wonderful food and service. I chose a homemade quiche with a light pastry surrounding a generous filling, served with a fresh salad and tasty crusty bread. My friend chose a warm goat's cheese salad. We shared a pichet of white wine. This was a quiet oasis with excellent service. Can be recommended!!

This is probably the largest outdoor eating space in Ceret, and it's very busy on summer evenings. We ate here twice. The food was consistently good - probably a notch above what you might expect from a large popular restaurant. Serving staff was friendly. There are lots of choices of different dishes on the menu; you'll find more variety here than in other restaurants in town. They do a nice job.

We visited this lovely restaurant some 4 years ago and so we wanted to see what is was like after such a long time. Well, simply EXCELLENT. No point in expanding. The owner and chef made us feel welcomed and as my wife is a coeliac they ensured that she was very well looked after too. Food, service and wine all top class. Glad to see that after our last visit this place has maintained and even exceeded it's standard. Well done Fred and all your staff.

A fairly basic restaurant popular with walkers but don't let this out you off. Traditional food, good sized portions and inexpensive house wine. Deserts especially good.
We went for dinner but think would have been better at lunch time when could have enjoyed the view.
Meal for five people, two courses each with wine and water was euro 130.
Make sure you take insect repellent and a jumper - about 5-10 degree cooler up here than on the coast.

During our week in Ceret we ate out four times and enjoyed every restaurant we tried. This friendly little place just seemed to have that little extra. Our French is limited but the waitress and chef were both happy to explain and, when asked, show us items from the menu. The food was excellent and we spent a very pleasant two hours over our dinner.
We would definitely go back.
