The restaurant will be closed from 23rd of December 2015 until 10th of February 2016.
You'll be hard pressed to find a better view in the region for such great value. Excellent fried fish and top-notch pork filets, but the crown jewel of Preguiça really is the fish soup. Decent house wine. Did I mention it's great value? Reachable by boat.

If you can't satisfy your appetite here, you are probably not living. All kinds of meat and fish on offer. Try the river fish appetizer or the marinated eels. Just remember, the portions are huge! Really friendly staff and fellow diners! Menu in English available.

Loved the food , service , wine & PRICES !! , we also were taken by the village itself lots of tradtional shops ,,mainly used by the residents , very little influenced by the River Tourists , .The square of Rua do Republica , Capela Da Misericordia , all from the 18th century no change apart from repointing the big York type pavement stones , a really find

Toca encompasses a quintessential Portuguese experience. First its the 20 min drive up the winding mountain roads. Second, if you arrive a little before the meal and walk around you will see old men playing bocci outside the restaurant, and can walk up the steep cobblestone streets and observe locals going about their business, small churches and ancient houses - all with [almost] zero tourists.
Now the restaurant. Its excellent! The food and the ambiance. Its a small place (maybe 20 people). Our mains were cod with potatoes and local veal wrapped in bacon. Perhaps the best veal in lifetime. Granted it was our only meat dish in Portugal, and we made exception for it given the location.
The is very friendly and his recommended wines(old growth Quinta do Malho) were excellent as well

When we sat sat down and looked at the menu, my hopes fell because it was very limited, centered around grilled protein and not much of that to choose from. But they did a great job with the Naca Vitello -- veal steak, and the mixed salads and vegetable soup. Everybody was kind and helpful, with bright smiles. Dessert was a plethora of wonderful options. Only thing lacking from a nice neighborhood restaurant (to me) is a decent wine list. The selection there was quite poor considering the location, in the heart of the Douro. Located very close to the Pousada.

Fomos bem atendidos e ficamos bastante satisfeitos!
