Everything was extremely fresh and decent but no great in the set lunch - the dessert course was nothing special - waffle with chocolate sauce.
Not much of an ambiance though - no view - lots of families with screaming babies while we were there.
We saw lots of other places on the drive towards town that had great beach views... maybe check for those sorts of places on a search

We stumbled onto this place at the end of our holiday, it was late afternoon and we wanted a rest from a long walk. We were directed to the Terrace which overlooked the bay and ate some sweet langoustines with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. It was delicious and made all the better for the awesome view. The only critical comment I have is that the staff were very young and that reflected in the service, the place would have benefited from having an older manager visible to keep tabs on the servers giggling and quiet chit-chat that went on amongst them.

It was our first meal on Cap Ferret and we were surprise how good the food was. The service was also good, not overbearing nor slow. We ate on the Terrace which was pleasant. It's a friendly place with good food and reasonable prices.

The title says it all. The food is good but not gastronomic. The service friendly and relaxed. The decor is warm with slightly worn furniture. The views very pleasant across the bay. In short an unstuffy place that represents well the whole feel of Cap Ferret.

Great place to sit, enjoy the sea and its gifts. Very, very, very simple. A table outside is a must on a sunny day. Extremely uncomfortable cheap chairs will make you leave soon. Fabulous and oh so fresh oysters and prawns. As they are farming the former themselves (and selling, if you happen to live nearby) , you need not worry a second about their freshness. Very good bread, not much in the sense of wine selection, but the fresh Sirech' Les Deux Terroirs with very specific coupage and low alcohol was the perfect companion.
Clearly there is no mark for the kitchen. Neverthelss, the place is a must for a short lunch break on your way to a walk along the dunes of Cap Ferret a few minutes walk away. If you like your food raw, of course. Not for the burger folks...

My wife and I heard about this off-the-beaten-track restaurant from a wine guide in Bordeaux (Bordeaux with Elodie -- a really fantastic guide if you want to check out vineyards in the region). The restaurant is tucked away behind several oysters shacks. When we arrived we were welcomed by the wonderful Sylvie, the owner, who told us what she had to offer: fresh oysters, bulots (Atlantic snails), fresh pate, shrimp, bread, and white wine. We ordered one of everything to get a taste.
The oysters were fresh, briny, cold and delicious. With a squeeze of lemon they were some of the best that this oyster lover has ever had. The bulots (impossible to find in the US) were a real treat: slightly picante, and served cold, they were an ideal accompaniment to the shrimp which were prepared very simply and very well. The pate was exquisite, the wine refreshing and delightful, and the bread rounded out the meal. Needless to say, we ordered seconds. It was not fancy or elaborate -- the food was pure, simple, and fresh. It spoke for itself, and wasn't pretentious or overly "done." It was a prefect dinner for seafood lovers.
Perhaps more impressive than the simply, fresh, French fare was the view we had. The seats are on a dock -- right on the water -- and as we ate, the sun set over the Bassin D'Arcachon. It was absolutely stunning. One of the most peaceful, enjoyable meals I have ever eaten. We sat in the still evening as the sun set, eating fresh seafood and listening to the gentle lapping of the waves on the dock. We will remember that dinner for a very, very long time.

The " Oyster bar " of the Market of Arcachon welcomes you all year long. The Oyster Bar proposes the apéritive tasting of Olivier LABAN, oyster farmer, producer and breeder of the oyster Arcachon - Cap Ferret. À la carte also; shrimps BIO, whelks terrine of campaign (countryside)Sale of oysters to be taken or to be tasted (savoured) on the spot.
We had to go there three times to get served.
It is in the centre of the most touristic part of Arcachon; still it behaves on working hours of a hundreds years ago.
We arrived at 14h00; sorry, we're closed.
Well, sorry, it's me the tourist; I have money; you live from my money, buit it seems that you want to continue to do business according to your timing.
On holidays I get up lazy (isn't this the first principle of holidays); then I make the breakfast to please my wife, then we finish eating breaklfast at 10h00 or 10h30; and then I should have lunch 1h30 later????
This is for a fisherman that gets ut at 6 AM, not a tourist time.
Second try: 13h00: sorry we want to clsoe in a few minutes
third try: 12h15: this time everything worked: very good and fresh oysters and all other shellfish.
Pirice was good too; idem for the location.
But my stomac wasn't ready yet.
I just couldn't finish my plate.
Why should I force my stomac just to please the restaurant?
Sorry, no, I felt almost like raped by such arrogant and intolerant behaviour.
You insist on keeping your opening hjours; move your restaurant to non-touristic regions

First of all, Emile et une huître is a really cute place, located in the calm district of L'Herbe, on the Cape Ferret.
Just go for a short relaxing walk through the village, along the coast, and simply stop there when the marine air makes you feel like having dozens and dozens of fresh oysters...
Far from being a formal restaurant or a proper bar, Emile et une huître is just one of those picturesque Oysters Hut you will find everywhere in this area. But what makes this one different from the others then ?
Well, it serves the same fresh, tasty, generous and I-want-a-dozen-more oysters, which are grown in the area. If you're really into transparency in the fooding chain, here you are sure that the products come directly from the oyster-farms to your plate. Then, you can make the moment even better with adding one or two glass(es) of dry white wine...
... add a little bit of sun, two or three hours to spare, a couple of good friends, the smiles & niceness from the staff, and you get the perfect afternoon in a great venue with a lovely atmosphere.
And don't even worry about your wallet : you can fill up your stomach as much as you can without having to draw money from your saving account ! ;)

Since we saw that restaurant classified in first position on Tripadvisor in Arcachon we decided to go there. The restaurant has pink flashy front (you cannot miss it). It is located in a shopping street just a few minutes walk from the sea. The menu propose various salty or sweety crepes and burgers. The burgers are somewhat originals since the slices of bread is replaced by sesame crepes. I recommand to take the menu which is composed with a burger, a drink and a desert (Nutella crepe or icecream).

This is not a fancy place but it's not meant to be. There are choices besides oysters but the oysters were sublime, and the service was efficient and cheerful. There's a wealth of choices along the Bassin but this is surely one of the best.
