Usually when we order apatizer, we took cheese and prosciutto, but this time a very nice and kind old man (maybe a owner, not sure) told us that they have made mashroom soup. We took it and it was the best We tried. For main course we took beefsteak with mashrooms and homemade pasta called fuzi. I enjoyed every second of it. For dessert we had pancakes. Very very delicious!

Wonderful family run restaurant near Umag / Portoroz.
IT has the most delicious food / fish and meat / served in the summer on the great covered Terrace and in the winter inside , traditional Istrian konoba with the great open fire that warms your heart as well ))))
Foodie heaven.
Must visit on your next trip to Umag / Portoroz area.

We visited place on our friends suggestion. Nice welcome. We appreciate it and specially on waiters welcoming. The menu is correct and more than inaff choices between seafood and meats dishes. They used a local Adriatic seafood and local truffles and meat, but there’s no fresh make up on food presentation atِ all. Could be much better.
Price range is normal, correct.

Even though we looked at the pictures on the web before we visited the place, the surroundings, magnificent view of the sun disappering in the sea, while we were slowly sipping our drinks and enjoying great food - it was all above all our expectations. We'll be back!

Marino is a charming restaurant located minutes from the Slovenian / Croation border. The staff is professional, friendly and will accommodate most food requests. Their pasta with black or white truffles (when in season) is second to none. Their steak is amazing. It's prepared on an open fire at the back of the dining room. Wine is wonderful. Grappa, after dinner, served by the proprietor Dada, is a perfect way to end a spectacular meal. I would highly recommend Marino. I've become such a frequent visitor, I had to order additional pages on my passport to accommodate trips to this fantastic eatery.

I was there recently and had truffles pasta locally named "fuzi s tartufima". the meal price is some 10% higher then in zagreb but problem was that i asked waitress if the portion is suitable for a meal or if it is an appetizer on which she said its an normal portion for one, for surely it is not, it is an appetizer and portion is really small. secondly eating this traditional local dish i would expect it to be better then in zagreb which is not the case here, it was too rarely made more like a soup then pasta, ingredients were good though but dish was too watery

Autentic dalmatian restaurant 15 minutes from the seaside on the hilltop near Buje. They have a variety of beefsteaks grilled on fire. The most prestigious steak is the one with white truffels, it is served in the autumn when it has the season, so we tried it with the black truffels which was also amazing. Reservation is recommended.

We had hoped to dine at Rino but it was closed and chanced on this restaurant. The best service, great pasta meals, the best chocolate desserts we have had so far on our Istrian journey, a really good house red (Terran) and coffee. Do yourselves a favour and eat here!

The Konoba (restaurant or tavern in Croatian) has a web site, link below. For some reason it has a "ch" (Switzerland) address. Not sure why. Well worth a visit. http://www.stari-podrum.ch/dobrodosli.html
Having eaten here in the summer we decided to revisit in December. In fact we enjoyed it so much we went twice!
We just love Stari Podrum, the vibe in winter is very different, the restaurant moves to a lovely cosy little room with a huge fire in the corner where they cook all the meat.
The food here is fabulous, a must try is the pasta with truffles, unbelievably good. The steaks are awesome and if you’re feeling strong go for the t-bone fiorentina!
The service is friendly and fun, charming ladies who clearly love what they do.
This place is great, seriously good. You must visit!

Member of the Association des Jeunes Restorateurs d'Europe, the gourmet restaurant San Rocco finds itself on the top of the Istrian and Croatian cuisine scene. The elegant restaurant drawn by the spaces where once the family's Malvasia and Terrano wines were produced offers a vast gastronomic array based mainly on typical seasonal specialties, such as fresh locally caught fish, truffles, mushrooms, ham, game and other typical Istrian specialities. The cuisine is the result of endless research based on tradition. The delicacies are combined with a rich wine list with over 200 labels as well as with a vast choice of Istrian olive oils. Each seasonal menu has recommendations on which olive oil to use with the chosen dish. In the restaurant 25 to 30 guests can be served at the same time while in summer the guests can enjoy the outdoor Terrace next to the pool and garden. The restaurant is included in the important national and international gastronomic guides such as Veronelli , Gault Millau, Wo ist Österreich, Le Guide de l'Espresso, A tavola con il Nordest, Magnar Ben, Restaurant Croatica, and was awarded with many significant prizes. It is included in the publication of the 100 leading Croatian restaurants and has been among the best restaurants (TOP Gourmet) in the Istrian gourmet guide (issued by the Istrian Tourist Board) for years
We tried this restaurant in the san rocco hotel. The istrian menu (euro 75) is a high class tasting menu. Some of the dishes were really excellent; other just good. For me euro 75 is a little overprices.
You can eat a la carte. Nice plats with a good taste and less expensive.
If you are in the neighboorhoud ... absolutely worthy to visit!
