This was one of the nicest days we had on the Isle of Skye. The sun was actually shining and warm. But, alas, our time on Skye had come to an end and we needed to be moving on. But, before we left we needed lunch.
A short distance of the main road in Broadford, is this hidden gem: Creeler's of Skye. It looked inviting from outside and we were certainly impressed once inside. This was no chippy.
Table linens, sharp dressed staff, limited Seating and washrooms that were VERY clean. Thankfully, we arrived before the big 1 o'clock reservation and there was only three of us. Not having Reservations, we were not expecting to be seated at all.
Lucky for us, there was one table left. We are very happy to have been able to dine at Creeler's. The staff were very knowledgeable and attentive. They made excellent recommendations. This eatery is a pleasant blend of Highland Cuisine prepared in a traditional French style. With some of our ancestors being from France, this was a good blend for our family.
The meal began with a serving of warm bread & butter. Then our main dishes arrived - Mac & cheese for our son, the Salmon Dinner for my wife and I enjoyed the Haddock. Everyone was happy with their meal. The food was served hot, the servings were plentiful and everything was very tasty!!
We would definitely eat here again.

Food is the crowning part of the Kinloch experience. Feeding you well at every opportunity is something we take extremely seriously. Claire Macdonald started the kitchens at Kinloch with a Mission to make the most of the wonderful local produce on offer. Brazilian-Scottish Chef Director Marcello Tully continues Claire’s food ethos today, bringing to it his own influence and experience in some of the world’s finest kitchens.
We stopped here for lunch, out of season, on a wet Tuesday in November. We were made very welcome with aperitifs in the drawing room, four course lunch in the dining room, coffee back in the drawing room afterwards. Venison done sous vide and superbly, as was everything else. An excellent experience, just how we like it, and we shall return. Price wise the lunch was good value at £45, but we felt a glass of champagne was steep at £17.50, if not downright naughty, even though it was Laurent Perrier. Consider revising?

A lovely evening last night at the Harbour restaurant in Broadford. Between us we had a tapas starter followed by slow cooked lamb, mussels, and salmon steak. Veg was gorgeously unusual too! Christina, the chef, popped out to say hello, she’s Spanish and a wonderful cook! Combination of seafood with a Mediterranean twist - gorgeous. Murdo looked after us during the evening and the waitress was lovely and accommodating.
Shame they are shutting at the end of the week for a well earned break, but we will see you in the new year

Our locally sourced menu includes delicious freshly made pizza from our Italian wood fired oven. Enjoy speciality wines and cocktails as well as our artisan drum-fired coffee, roasted in-house. Food served all day.
Ate here while staying in Broadford. Had contacted Sia via Facebook to check some ingredients as my husband and I are vegan. They promptly replied to our request. Their pizza bases are vegan and you can build your own pizza. They even had vegan cheese available. We also had the pasta salad and chips along with some beer and wine. The staff were friendly and efficient and the prices were reasonable too.

The Claymore restaurant is very popular so need to book in advance. The food is mostly seafood with a few meat and vegetarian dishes. There are sharing platters of which there is plenty to go round. The restaurant is clean and the staff are pleasant and efficient. There is ample parking and overlooks the water so great views.

Lovely little cafe to stop for a coffee and a bite to eat. I had a toastie all served with salad but the coffee was gorgeous. Lovely view with a whiteboard with all recent sightings of golden eagles etc

Ordered a homemade venison burger and other person ordered an open vegetable lasagne. I have tasted a better venison burger bought in Tesco and cooked on the bbq at home. The meat was overcooked and the bun was hard and served on a wooden platter that was small and the burger started falling apart when cutting as the mayonnaise leaked out the sides. It was difficult to eat either with a knife and fork or by hand. I could hardly cut into it and later when I asked for an extra napkin as I was getting in a mess, they gave me a steak knife. The chips had skins on and had no flavour and I only ate one and that was enough.
The other person said the lasagne was okay but the squash was underdone in parts and certainly for the amount of vegetables and sauce it was certainly not value for money.
When I asked for the bill and she could see the meal was mainly uneaten she asked what was wrong, I told her and she did not say anything, I assumed she was going to say something to the chef ort to me, but the next thing another waitress came over and thumped down the bill on the table and walked off saying there is your bill. I did not get an apology or even a complimentary soft drink charge removed as a way of apologising for substandard food, especially at such overinflated prices. The bill came to £34.85 for 2 x lemonades and 1 coke and both main meals. I would have had no problem with this price had the food been of a good standard and flavour. One other thing, the wind had blown a napkin off another table onto the floor when people came in and the waitress just picked it up and put it back on the table. This could cause e-coli or salmonella as Skye is farmland and people coming in and out the restaurant may have shoes with mud and other farm products on the soles of their feet. If she is so unhygienic with this I do hope she washes her hands etc.
Also, the specials board was not easy to read and I was unaware of it at the time of ordering and was not even directed to it, and the room was very hot and stuffy and very noisy and not a place to relax. I normally prefer putting on positive comments but in this case I feel that future diners need to be aware of the poor service (took 45 mins from ordering to get the food) and poor quality of food for the price.

We stopped in today after our boat trip and were so glad we did. Baked potato and a roll'n'sausage ordered and they were both delicious. Also had the Victoria sponge which was so light and a scone both were lovely. Staff were pleasant and prices reasonable would recommended to anyone.

I suppose that if we had not previously had a drink in the delightful surrounds of the hotel bar next door the title may have been more gracious and Gabbro may have appeared a little less dingy. Nevertheless the service was efficient and very friendly and the beer was good.
