Since many years the manager puts all its energy and heart into this lovely place where you feel at ease at once. In the summer time you can sit outside and admire a nice scenery of the valley and the Alps in the horizon. For any occasion you will find an excellent dish, be it for a family feast, be it for a brief lunch. The dishes are prepared with outmost attention and care and are very tasteful. If you care of organic food, this is THE place to go ! Many thanks to Romy Herzog and its crew.

We came for lunch and the place was barely empty so we decided to sit near the windows. Service came quickly and was attentive. The menu is quite large with a huge amount of pizza's to choose from. Everything from salad, pizza and noodles tasted great. The only negative we have is the oldish interior which from our perspective needs to be cleaned and refurbished.

Being Americans, we were disappointed with the meal that was dished up that night. The burgers had nothing in common with US burgers, other than their names. The beef was kinda flaky, not juicy at all and tasted thoroughly boring. Not a place we'd go back to anytime soon. Sorry.

Friday late afternoon/early evening at 6:30pm. The restaurant was pretty empty but despite we only wanted to come for a quick dinner we got refused. No attempt to give us a table. Very unsatisfying - we will not try it again.

The only one authentic JAPANESE KAISEKI Gourmet Restaurant in Switzerland with in Japan registered professional Kaiseki cooks from Japan. The Kaiseki Menues will be served in the real Japanese ZASHIKIs or in the Séparées (KOAGARI-ZASHIKI) as it should be. You will be in Japan in the middle of Europe. No Lunch. Open only for the dinner time.
My wife and I, both japanophiles, decided to celebrate our first wedding anniversary here. After Reading numerous very positive reviews on trip advisor, we went with high expectations, which were nowhere close to be met. We dined at the a la carte restaurant and both had the tasting menu.
In summary:
Food: Satisfactory but not very creative, produce seemed partly not to be very fresh (sea urchin and toro seemed off). Desert was a total joke
Service: Not acceptable. We arrived, instead of a hello we were bluntly asked if we have a reservation and then showed to our table. Throughout the meal, service was inattentive, slow (except when the dishes arrived - we were literally rushed through the meal) and it seemed to us as if we were not welcome at all.
Ambiance: not authentic, site looks run down (walls chipped, dirt around ventilation exits)
Price: we had two tasting menus, two bottles of water, three beers and two glasses of veuve cliquecot (half filled) for almost 400 CHF. We felt ripped off to be honest
Summary - in the end, maybe we were there on the wrong day or just unlucky. Nevertheless, we won't return and can not recommend the place unfortunately.

Unfortunately, despite the excellent reviews of this restaurant, have just experienced the most appalling service, ending with the service complaining about us in Swiss German to other guests thinking that as English speakers we wouldnt understand the insult. When challenged why they were insulting us in German,we were told in front of other guests that we were not welcome as guests. Needless to say,we immediately paid and left the restaurant. Unbelievable....

Bio Restaurant
Really tasty food, the have handwritten menu's and change it a lot every time according to the current season. Very healthy tasty food. I also like the ambience there, but to be honest its maybe not for everyone.

Double whammy today at Gruenebode:
- we had the Thursday's special (3 courses for 49 CHF)
- venaison's season
So it was a feast! Great place for a tete-a-tete dinner, with prosecco cupli and french wine - we really enjoyed the food (pumpkin soupe, venaison, and cinnamon parfait) it was just like our dessert: PARFAIT!
Thank you for the great evening!

Before even having the chance to make the members of my family comfortable, the dog needed to stretch his legs after a long drive..the cook ( also owner) sharply attacked us in the parking lot and told us we have to ask to park in his lot, not even considering we would be returning to him soon after. He is unfortunately spending his time outside of the kitchen. The vulgar way he treats people must be a sign of real problems. Avoid this place at all costs.
