My husband and I had a marvellous dinner here. We were served by the patron Simon and charming and gifted chef Wendy. Simon is a perfectionist, and although it was a busy evening; he took time to explain the wine and to wrestle with a table that wasn’t quite level( I’d pushed it out of place). The dessert was divine and was accompanied by a sensational brandy.

The service was good and staff were friendly. The coffee was nice. The pulled pork burger was delicious and full of flavour. To often chicken in salads are dry, but their chicken was moist and tasty. Highly recommended.

A visit to this restaurant was again one of the highlights of our stay in South Africa. Definitely the best meal in the region with calm, friendly, efficient and professional service. The food was nothing short of outstanding and we were greeted as friends notwithstanding we only visit once a year! We ate on the stoop deck on a warm November evening enjoying the food, the excellent wine from the vineyard and the sun setting over the distant hills - a memorable evening.

We just had an overnight stop here but it was pleasant enough. Good breakfast and lovely garden. The wifi wasn't working on our side of the hotel but that's no biggie and the AC unit was not working too well either. Good value.

We had very bad service from the manager. The food was average. The place is beautiful . It was very sad because we had booked it for my husbands birthday. The owner has apologised but it did not really help a ruined evening.

Montagu has empty streets when we arrived at Burgundy Gherkin, but the restaurant was full, so it was obviously the place to go for the best pizza in town. We were not disappointed. I had a ‘Greece’ pizza (salami, olives and feta) to which I added anchovies, and it was beautifully crispy and cheesy. My friend ordered the Banting base for his blue cheese and caramelized onion pizza and said it was one of the best he’s ever had. So thumbs up for Burgundy Gherkin. What it may lack in ambiance it certainly makes up for with its food. Just realize that this is a pizza/pasta only place...!

Situated in the Patform 62 complex, this cafe was bustling with happy diners when we arrived. This is an unpretentious place offering tasty and affordable food. The staff are friendly and relaxed, the only "staff-member" who was strutting around, full of his own self- importance, was "Freedom" the rooster!! There is a well equipped outdoor play area for the children, a very large selection of ice creams which was such a bonus on a hot day. Every one was enchanted with the mother hens and their brood of little chicks scrounging around the outside Seating area. Farm hospitality at its best!
