It's been almost 12 months since I last ate here and nothing has changed with the superior food quality and service. The service is sharp and efficient, waiting times between courses is perfect. Quality of food is excellent and varied.

...the welcome upon entering was SO rude. Once seated (book in advance if you can as we waited for 15 mins with no communication from any staff) you’ll not be disappointed.
The pasta dishes are some of the best this side of Italy. The waiter was funny, warm and helped us understand the menu.
Every dish was perfectly prepared and tasted fantastic. Honestly some of the best pasta I’ve ever eaten.
Save some room for their signature Tirimisu, it’s a must.
Next time I’ll book in advance and not have the stress of waiting for a table.
AWESOME FOOD, I can’t stress that enough.

Fine dining restaurant Meridiano - the choice of connoisseurs (16 Gault-Millau points, 1 Michelin star). High above the rooftops of Bern, gourmet guests are offered superior culinary quality, the purest taste sensations and views of the distant Alps. They enjoy relaxation in an easy-going ambience, enhanced by the warmest of welcomes from Restaurant Manager Giovanni Ferraris. Authentic cuisine influenced by both the Mediterranean and the Alps, that's the captivating culinary style of South Tirolean Chef de Cuisine Fabian Raffeiner.
Celebrating our 39th anniversary was a joy here. The service was very formal but friendly. We started with champagne (3 choices) and had a good bottle of Swiss wine. The food was very good including the venison and the salmon. Portions were slightly on the small side but at the end we were just right with a dessert or two. The milk and honey was fun as was the peach Bellini sorbet. Terrace view at sunset was nice. Tables are widely spaced for privacy and the sound level is pleasant.

This was the best meal in Bern. It's a little outside the centre (in Koniz) but well worth the trip. Beautiful building and great decor. Nice welcoming staff always happy to help. But critically the food is spectacular. We had a fixed 4 course meal of sashimi, artichoke soup, pink veal and then cheese. Very highly quality ingredients, perfect cooking and beautifully presented.

In Berne's traffic free Aarbergergasse quarter, just five minutes from the parlament house and main station, lies the Gourmanderie Moléson. The gourmet menu entices you with real culinary pleasures. Grandma's market fresh meals with Swiss veal Cordon Bleu, Emmentaler rack of lamb, French free range chicken, AOC certified Charolais beef and SwissPrimBeef, fresh seasonal fish, Scottish Salmon (certifed Red Label), certified AOC swiss cheese fondue AOP from Gruyère and crispy Alsatian pies. All our meat comes from animals that were raised in their correct natural environment. All dishes are prepared from start to finish in our kitchen including our desserts. We are proud that all of our meals are prepared without any factory products. The restaurant is devided into three separate dining spaces where all meals are served. Experience the ambiance of a classic Brasserie in the Gourmanderie. The Petit Moléson swings with the rhythm of a Parisien Bistro. The Greyerzerstube with its original old wooden finish is perfect for bankets with twenty to thirty guests. In the summer time, enjoy your meal under large umbrellas on grand oldstyle furniture and feel the atmosphere of a Bernese old town street. Our place is the meeting point for local politicians, artists, business people and romantic connaiseurs. In Moléson you don't eat, you feast! We had our best meal in Switzerland at this restaurant in bern. I had the beef cheeks which just melted in my mouth and my partner had the steak. Their butter is sublime!
The service was very good and helpful as we had tried to order too much food with the waitress informing us that they are large servings, which they are.
Good wine selection and all in all a great restaurant to eat at.

We erroneously reserved a table at the wrong date (our fault), but the chef du service twisted his arms and found a solution to accommodate us - this was really great! Also through the whole evening the service was at an exceptional level. We visited on a lush summer evening and soaked up the wonderful atmosphere just above the Aare river in the old town of Bern.
My starter was the star of the evening, a mesmerizing beef tataki with melon compote. The main, however, was a bit uninspired: lamb entrecôte with beans and nothing else; here I definitely would expect more sophistication. To close they served a decent blue cheese. Also, the place is famed for decent wines.
Normally I would deduct a star for the weakness in the main course, which was a bit of a disappointment in such a classy restaurant. The service, however, was top notch and being able to compensate for the reservation mistake from our end definitely wins again an extra point!
The place is pricey, by the way: Expect to pay CHF 100 per person if you're humble and at least 150 CHF if you want the real feast.

Wein&Sein invites diners to enjoy a meal in their vaulted cellar or on their summer Terrace. The 24-seat restaurant is in the back, and the front houses the bar with its wine cabinets containing 300 bottles on display. The kitchen team will spoil you with a seasonal evening menu of several courses and a lunch menu that changes daily. Taking the motto "great wines don't have to bear great names," the sommelier Silvia Glockler will recommend a suitable wine - either to accompany your evening meal, as an aperitif, or at the bar.
The setting is lovely , in a old cellar. The menu is set each night, your only choice is how many courses (3/4/5) and what wine or beverage. We ate there April 5.
Amuse bousch: green garlic soup shooter and a quail egg with beets.
Menu, we chose 4 courses, left out the cheese course.
Salad: cream cheese wrapped in cabbage on a bed of greens with pommegranite seeds & pine nuts
soup: chickory, way too tart , very weird tatse
main: angus beef a sauce with flower greens and sweet potato. Excellent
dessert:a chocolate mousse with chili chocolate ice cream, some hard chocolates, a cookie & a jelly.
All in all, other than the chickory soup, it was a good meal. I just wish there had been choices of each course, or some courses, like maybe 2 mains to chose from?

It's a beautiful place, and in summer the patio must be gorgeous. My friend was quite happy with her starter and the really tasty fish. I took the Beef Bourguignon, which is one of their signature dishes, but I was greatly disappointed: the meat was very dry and tough, definitely not worth the money. The Tarte Tatin was rather unlike any other of its kind I've seen: a lot of apples and the wrong kind of pastry. Excelent ice cream though! Over all I just expected it to b a lot better than it was. And since I did tell them I was not happy with the meat it would have been nice to see a little gesture to say sorry, like a free coffee or such - but this seems to be a concept that hasn't made its way into Switzerland yet.

The menu is limited but give enough choice to please everyone. Service takes well care of all guests. Vegetarian offering is good. Much space between the table which allows privacy. Many parkplaces available.

We had lunch here twice and can't recommend it highly enough. It's housed in an old artist's atelier by Nyddegbrucke, near the bear garden. On our first visit we drank the great local beer from the Altes Tramdepot and shared an excellent plate of mixed cheese and local cured meats. I finished with an amazing marscapone and yoghurt dessert (which was a lot more interesting than it sounds) and my husband had a fabulously light cheesecake. The second time we had the asparagus risotto - a generous serving, which was perfectly cooked. I went for the same dessert while my husband had the pancakes. We ordered a lovely bottle of Thunersee red from the interesting wine list to accompany the meal. The produce is mainly locally sourced and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the wine they serve. This really is a gem - it's quite a small place so booking is advised.
