Located in Barbate , fishing village whose traditional cuisine draws inspiration Campero 's letter , being Wild Bluefin Tuna Almadraba the undisputed star . Traditional cuisine with Japanese touches and cutting edge , but giving priority to the authentic flavor of the dish . With brightly decorated , clean and simple shapes, El Campero provides an exclusive atmosphere to enjoy a unique experience.
A fantastic dining and eating experience - not cheap but the best place for tuna anywhere.
We had tuna cooked, uncooked, with sauce, in wontons, on a stick and served so many other ways. Deliciously unexpected dinner and highly recommend!
Great wines and service too - a very memorable evening!

We chose this restaurant because of the good rating. However our experience is not all positive.
We ordered salmon tartare and got tuna tartare, the carpaccio de pulpo was drowned in its dressing and the croquettes were tasteless.
We did like the chuleton rubia meat at €45/kg but half of it was bone or grease so we paid for 3kg or €30/pp (it was more than enough) which is rather steep.
We chose a €15 wine but they came back and advised us a €30 bottle which scored 3.7 on Vivino at an average price of €4.8.
With a total bill of €258 for 5 we would have expected a little bit more.

Vejer's most popular restaurant has stone vaulted dining rooms and a lush palm-filled courtyard set in an emblematic 16th century building. 'The Caliph's Garden' is one of Andalucia's prime eating destinations. You will be served fabulous North African & Middle Eastern food in a historic, tranquil & unsurpassed setting in the heart of Vejer's medieval quarter. Overlooking the palm filled square of the medieval quarter the Jardín del Califa is inspired by the Moorish rule of Vejer over 700 years ago. The Jardin del Califa is set in one of Vejer's most important historic buildings. The principal building dates from 1527 (and includes parts from the 11th Century) and is now a grade 1 listed monument. The stone clad dining rooms and the palm filled courtyard are the perfect company for your meal with us. Come to the Califa and you will enjoy tasty dishes, stone vaulted cellars, an enchanted garden, a splashing Fountain and scented plants. The haven of this quiet corner in the heart of Vejer will provide you with many memorable moments.
A restaurant worth including during a stay in Vejer.
Morocco & Lebanese dining, in a special atmosphere.
Very well decorated.
Great service personnel attention and level of service.
Fine price value for a/some shared starters, each a main course, house wine (which is a fine table wine), and/or a few "canas", ends at around Euro 30 per head.
Suits off season dining very well. Very nice to sit in the glass covered patio.
Suits romantic, or two couples.
Reserve table.

Castillejos a different place to eat in los Caños de Meca.A kitchen, whose principle is insuring greatest respect for the local products.A specialty, the almadraba red tuna. Our goal, giving you an experience for the five senses.
Visited los Canos de Mecca today from nearby Zahoraand had a delightful lunch here. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress who spoke good English and translated the tapas menu. We were provided with a delicious potato and egg salad on the house. Our tapas were beautifully presented and tasted delicious especially the ceviche of octopus and langoustined served on a homemade tacos. The home made fish croquettes were also lovely. All the dishes were served with a good portion of salad. With our coffee we were given a limoncello each to round off our meal. A nice touch. The lady behind the bar also spoke good English and both were so friendly and chatty. The restaurant menu looked good but I would like to return for more tapas. 5 tapas dishes, 4 drinks and coffee for £22 in a holiday resort. I call that good value as we were very full at the end.

Great seafood restaurant, with Tuna speciality dishes on the menu. However I decided on fish of the day, which was delicious, my husband had the Iberian pork which he loved. We shared a starter prawn salad lovely. I will defiantly go back here. High standard, good service, great wine.

This place closed a few years ago but it has since reopened under new ownership and management and man, what an amazing find it is. The food is out of this world, great service (perhaps not the most knowledgeable when it came to wine but her charm made up for it). Simply fantastic, innovative menu that was a bit daring for the area and I was so glad to see a chef/owner take chances. The building is part of the old convent and it is super cool and almost spooky and since it is above the Plaza España and not in the middle-of-it-all, there is less foot-traffic but I am sure this will change once people discover this gem.
Two drawbacks (obviously not too big otherwise my rating would have been affected):
1. No outdoor Seating but the owner promises once he has the permit they will put tables outside.
2. The music in the restaurant itself SUCKED. It was some sort of easy listening-romantic covers-cd mix that I could have lived without. This place calls for Spanish guitars, either on a cd or live (which would have been cool). Either way, I HIGHLY recommend it.

Came to this restaurant the first time, with friends, in July after Reading the reviews on Tripadvisor and they did not disappoint. The food was delicious and at a fantastic price (absolutely value for money). Of course, I had to order the grilled tuna belly (which was not on the menu) and it was superb~! Service was prompt and friendly and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we came back again on a second visit in August!

We went to the place based on other recommendations, and we weren't disappointed. Tapas at a Euro - no one spoke English ( which I loved) and I asked for the waitress to supply us with her recommendations - it was all lovely and very cheap - would definatley go back.....

At this restaurant you can have typical regional breakfast, ask for a toast with cured ham or with “manteca colorá” for a different taste, grab a table just by the seaside and enjoy your morning coffee while the town wakes up and get relaxed without paying xtra for the great view. At night it is also a delight to get a table at the Terrace and they have many well prepared local seafood, look for the different tuna recipes and sip it with an andalusi white wine (with a sherry taste).

The young woman at the desk of the hotel where we were staying told us her brother just opened this restaurant and to try it. We did and were glad we did. The wait staff was excellent and nice atmosphere. Lot of free parking. I ordered a mixed salad. The waiter told me it was large and one was plenty. My goodness we both could have had plenty to eat and ordered nothing else.. Very fresh. I decided to order the tuna that was prepared in the local custom. Came with several chunks of tuna in a cream sauce. Highly recommend it. My husband ordered tiger prawns. They were huge and a lot of them. We were so full! When we are back in that area we will definitely be back.
