Easily our favorite restaurant in southern Istria - great food, outstanding service, excellent wine list at very good prices, and a splendid and attentive head waiter, Petar. He recommended wineries and restaurants in other places, all of which were lovely - as is the atmosphere and the quality in this restaurant. Meat dishes were excellent, as were the various fish offerings, and the chocolate dessert was genuinely divine. We liked it so much that we went there twice in four days and would gladly have returned if we hadn't had to leave the area. Fantastic.

The restaurant is temporary closed till easter 2016. Thanks to all for the good reviews.
We have visited this restaurant during our stay at Camp Medulin. Food is really delicious, view over the bay is beautifull, just do not visit them on the hot day. The heat under their umbrellas is almost unbareable, really do not understand why they do not change to some natural shadow

Boutiq style, SLOW FOOD restaurant. We are small place , and principle of our work is based on fresh seasonal ingredients, our home made pasta and bread...And working with top istrian olive oils like Meloto or Salvela. We are trying to serve you the best of our traditional and mediteranian food, in a simple and honest way.If you are fan of slow and quite dinner, let us quide you through our modest menu..And if you wanna finish your dinner in one hour, the best is to avoid us.
We have visited Istria annually for the last 14 years and have tried more restaurants and konobas than you can shake a burek at :)
We always return here and are never disappointed
There are very few restaurants that consistently offer such high quality food, executed with a true passion that also go above and beyond the normal heavy style of Istrian cuisine
I urge you to go, this is truly a hidden gem
Dobor tek!

The restaurant is well designed, with ample parking, 3 sides open for al fresco dining, comfortable wooden benches and chairs, and a light sea breeze to cool off, relaxing and eating well. Spectacular tagliatelle with scampi, and with frutti di mare, up to and even above Italian standards. Typical small grilled calamari with the ubiquitous chard&potatoes, cold local rosé wine, and a special lava cake were the standouts. Less brilliant was the can-sprayed cream on the very fresh fruit salad, and the cold crepe with ice-cream. But these were tiny faults that didn't ruin the excellent impression this place made on us, finished perfectly by impeccable fast and friendly multilingual staff, and a very reasonable bill for top quality ingredients

I only write reviews when I experience wonderful food. This place is a jewel for great seafood. Go with what is recommended that you will eat!

Second visit (first this year) and although it was very quiet we had a lovely evening. We shared mussels and fresh bread as a starter; daughter had a mixed fish and olive risotto, fillet steak (medium rare) and mixed meat grill. Good potions and cooked as requested. A couple of beers, three cokes, three wines and cafe latte all for £42. The host is very attentive.

My husband and I ate here and we enjoyed every part of the experience! As soon as we entered we were greeted by the friendly owner who was very personable. Both waiters were very nice and helped us in every way needed. I ordered the Schnitzel & my husband ordered the Beefstew, both were extremely good! For appetizer we had the fried Calamari and it was the best I have ever had. The prices are very reasonable for the portion of food. The atmosphere was very cozy and quaint. We will definitely be eating here again in the future!

Dear Guests, due to seasonal refurbishments and personal holidays we will remain closed throughout January 2017. Thank you for your understanding, we wish you a happy and successful 2017!

Cari ospiti, causa ristrutturazioni stagionali e vacanze rimarremo chiusi il Gennaio del 2017. Vi ringraziamo per la pazienza e Vi auguriamo un felice 2017!
Best meal we've had during our week in Istria, especially the desserts which hitherto had been underwhelming- all four at Ancora were a hit. Excellent value and not noticeably more expensive than the tourist traps, but at Ancora you definitely won't be served overpriced, unlovingly prepared, poor quality ingredients. One word of warning, if you're prone to mosquito bites the Terrace is probably best avoided after dusk.
Reserving was straightforward via email, parking is limited so use any of the car parks on the approach. It's a short walk down a side road where you'll need to pass a couple of restaurants with touts to get to it. Well worth the tiny effort!

We stopped there for lunch on our way out of Pula, and we were pleasantly surprised. It was good croatian food (we had the Istrian steak with grilled vegetables, the caprese salad, all quite nice), the service was ok without being great and the atmosphere was rather nice, it felt authentic. Finally it was very good value.
For a random stop on the road it was a very good surprise, I would recommend.
