Blueberry Hill is set on a hilltop overlooking Nottingham Road with 360 degree views and the most amazing views of the Drakensberg. It is a beautiful property with a highly regarded Lifestyle Gift Shop next door.
Gone downhill since last visit. Poor service. Messed up our order. Limited stock in shop. Looking a bit grubby. Coffee pretty good.

The restaurant is conveniently situated only 8 kms outside of Howick on the Currys Post Road. Approximately 4½ hours from Johannesburg and 1½ hours from Durban. Tastefully decorated yet simply country, this venue is ideal for dining pleasure. The row of glass panelled doors that open out onto the covered veranda echo the buildings stable origins, but inside the ceilings have been raised to give the feeling of great depth and space. Tastefully decorated but remaining true to the country ambience, Tumble Downs has a passion for food and hospitality. The awe-inspiring landscape of the surrounding Kamberg and Karkloof Valley, the unrestricted freedom of its lawns, fine cuisine and true country-style hospitality makes this the ultimate venue.
Yes, it's situated in a lovely location, and has had some great reviews here on Tripadvisor (which I don't doubt at all). But I'm of the opinion that the meal I've chosen to eat should be far superior and 'mysterious' to the one that I can cook at home (and I'm not a great chef) -- after all, that's the thrill of visiting a top-rated restaurant. However the Morrocan curry that I and my partner chose was bland and the beef chewy, in all, most unexciting, disappointing and very expensive. I can only assume, as the title of this review suggests, that it was an off day. Sorry guys.

We came to Caversham Mill to watch Dan Patlansky play at the Caversham Sessions. We had wonderful accommodation, a wonderful meal, wonderful service from an obliging staff and ....
An audience that made it impossible to listen to the music. Those around us were calling for a degree of respect for a great musician but that was not to be.
This was not advertised as a pub evening and this was not your average night out - this was an expensive venture and it simply wasn't worth it.
No blame on the kitchen or the staff. Just a comment to the management to exercise a modicum of control.
It won't affect us, because we won't be back.
Ever.

I ordered a prego steak roll and got the blandest steak roll ever. There was not a single drop of sauce on the steak and calling it a prego would be horrible. But friends ordered the eggs benedict with creamed spinach and enjoyed it. Personally the hollandaise sause on it seemed clumpy and we did not recieve it served on an english muffin. But since it was a nice visit I would rate it average but needs work as got potential.

Highly recommended self-catering serviced accommodation! We stayed at the 2 bedroom unit for a week and a weekend at the large unit that sleeps 7. Both units were very well equipped and beautifully decorated. The owner fully understands the needs of her guests.
It is a perfect spot if you want to spend some time in the Midlands Meander and very convenient for Michaelhouse parents.

A weekend away found us early at the estate for a Saturday lunch on a warm spring day. Ian gave us the highly informative low-down on the estate , it's wines and lucky for him, very little stock as several wines were out of stock.
There is a limited menu for lunch options and the platters looked good to share for a light lunch. We opted for lamb shank and pork belly with a bottle of viognier. The presentation was amazing , sitting outside in the garden/ patio was wonderful and service was excellent. And the food tastes as good as it looked.
Lovely setting for lunch with excellent food, great service and world class wine. Abingdon cannot be faulted and would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

As a visitor to the Midlands, we were referred to the Pizzeria by our accommodation hosts as it was a Tuesday "special" night however when we arrived we were told that unless we had made a reservation they were unable to accommodate us. I am not a bar person so sitting in that area was not an option and as it was cold and raining sitting outside was also not an option. There was certainly enough space inside the restaurant to have places a few more tables for those who are not local and do not know they need to make a reservation. Very disappointed.

Wow this place really has something for everyone. The shopping is interesting as they have all sorts of goodies under one roof. A great butchery, delicious biltong, pies, homemade confectionary, clothing, and all sorts of things for the home and garden. Hard to leave here empty handed.

We left the N3 on our way to Johannesburg from Durban and had breakfast at this beautiful restaurant. The Gardens are gorgeous and we sat outside under a huge tree. We hadn't booked, but luckily got there early so there was 1 table available. They roast there own very good coffee. The service was excellent and the manager very accommodating - he gave us his card and said " please book before you come as we are always full" One can taste their coffees and they have a good range for sale.
