We didn't know that Laudensacks Hotel comes with a one Michelin Star restaurant on site. What a wonderful surprise and treat! And how relaxing to just dine-in, then stroll the lovely grounds of the hotel. The food was delicious; service near flawless and presentation exquisite. The most amazing surprise came the next day when we saw the tab included as part of our hotel check-out. We couldn't have done better at an ordinary mid-grade restaurant back home!

Based on the recommendation we received we were expecting something more than an ordinary Gasthaus. The premises has been a restaurant for over 100 years. We arrived towards the end of the noon hour. I ordered the breaded cutlet and my wife a Zander fillet. Each was accompanied by a yogurt salad and potatoes.
Service was relatively quick and the salad was excellent, if typical Gasthaus fare. The two main courses each had the look of ready-prepared food from a restaurant supplier. The cutlet was covered in a uniform mantel of bread crumbs. The Zander came as a fillet of half a fish, minus the head and tail. It too was so uniformly formed that it seemed ready-prepared by the supplier.
Each main course was of average quality, no better and no worse. The accompanying potatoes were the same. The total bill came to 36,40€.
If an ordinary meal at an ordinary price is OK for you, you will probably not be disappointed. We expected more for the price charged.

I chose La Canchanchara because a) it is close to the theater b) it was recommended by my hotel.
The staff was very friendly and I got my food and drinks quickly. There is an old antique bar that is amazing.
I am really sorry to have to say this, but most unfortunately the food wasn't very good. It wasn't like any Mexican or Cuban food I've ever had. Which is too bad as the staff was so nice.
The cocktail menu looked really good and if I am in town again I would go back for drinks but not for food..
It was a reminder to me that I just shouldn't eat "Mexican" food in Germany. There just aren't enough Mexican people around to make it authentic.
To the owners: Please go to Mexico or to a Mexican restaurant in California or the Southwest so that you know what the food is supposed to taste like.

We have had lunch in this Restaurant, because we like italian food,
what was the result of it, very nice welcome, offer of aperitif, anti pasty as a starter afterwards Pasta, just horrible not the taste the size of the portion was so big that we could feed 2 families.
60% of the dishes we send back it was just to much too much, and it looks horrible on the plate.
If you go there tell them that you want a normal human portion than is everything ok.

The Kurgarten Cafe has an elegant interior where tea dances are held each afternoon, and outside you can sit in beautiful surroundings overlooking Gardens and Fountains. There's a great selection of cakes and ices, and the meals are excellent too with a very good choice including several vegetarian options and a good selection of wines. Most surprising is that the prices are quite low compared to other eateries in Bad Kissingen.

Bad Kissingen isn't a place you go for the food.
Most restaurants serve your average German/Franconian food, so that Schubert's provided a welcome change.
I was lucky and got a table on Saturday night without having reserved. It helped that I was alone (although this can sometimes be detrimental).
I got a table in the old, original part of the restaurant, had very attentive service, and enjoyed my food.
The cuisine is more nouveau German than very Franconian - so if you are looking for typical local cuisine, you might want to go elsewhere.
But if you want a new take on classic dishes, this is the place to go.
And of course they have a great wine list and the prices are reasonable.

I totally misunderstood the menu, and ordered, what I thought was a mixed grill. It was a mixed grill, but of the cook it yourself variety. We had steak, pork and chicken, served on a hot rock ( Pierre chaud in French) Good quality meat, very flavourful, and you couldn't blame the chef for overcooking the meat!. A good selection of bottled and draught beer made for an enjoyable evening!

Tried to spend an evening here as we did in the past.... Closed. Now I need to complete 100 characters before I am done to share with you that this great and iconic place is closed. Sad but a matter of fact.

The Körner was always crowded and without Reservations you were likely to be turned away. It has reopened, under presumably new ownership. On our visit, empty tables outnumbered occupied ones by a large margin. The interior and garden are as they were years ago.
The menu is full of good sounding dishes. We chose an order of spare ribs and one of Schäufele. Since both were cooked to order, they took longer to prepare. The service was good and the prices were fair.
Alas, each dish was no better than average. The failing was unimaginative seasoning.
