Full breakfast came with the room. Very nice selection of meats, cheeses breads and juices. Something I didn;t expect and glad to see was the eggs. Very pleased with the hotel and breakfast.

Our history is a story of sweet success. In the times of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy we were given the honour of being appointed to be "k.u.k. Hoflieferant". Today we serve a wide range of Austrian cakes, pastries, desserts, ice specialities and traditional Austrian cuisine.
We were frankly disappointed by this rather posh-looking Konditorei. The service was poor. We went to the counter to pick out a treat to have with our coffees. They give you a number after making your selection, which is then communicated to the server (who takes your drink order). The woman at the counter seemed to understand English but was difficult to deal with when we asked which things had no nuts. One of us has nut allergies. It soured our experience, and then the service was spotty too. The fancy cakes we chose were so-so in quality.

Friendly staff, skilled cooks and a warm atmosphere. This place is definitely a winner in Bad Ischl. The food is splendid and the wines are excellent.

Nice traditional place. The welcome you with bread and salt.
Nice waitress.
Good food but the deer ragout leaves you hungry and the wienerschnitzel was burned on one side but cleverly served with the good side up (in Austria!) .
Good beer.
Reasonable prices.
Ample parking.
No credit cards.

Our group of 12 hungry cyclists came 10 mins before closing but we've got excellent service. If you like central European food you should try it.

We are very happy that we found this restaurant slightly off the main shopping and restaurant/bar area.
'Soizknecht' is the Austrian phonetic representation of the German word 'Salzknecht' which used to be a salt mine worker. So you will find some black/white pictures of the nearby salt mine in the otherwise very modernly furnished restaurant.
We had some 'Tapas'-like starters the mandatory Wiener Schnitzel as well as beef with chanterelles and bread dumplings which were all of very good quality and super tasty.
The evening was a pleasure and the place is definitely worth all the points it gets on TripAdvisor.

Overall we liked the place very friendly owner and good selection of beer and Schnitzel.
The side dishes were a big dissapointment. The quality of the potatoes (grilled potatoes, potatoe salad) were the worst I have ever eaten. Maybe they are using cheap convenience food instead of making everything fresh.
But overall we liked it just the sides made it a bad experience u fortunately.

We ordered there spaghetti and lasagne. Must say that lasagne was quite ok, but spaghetti without any taste. Service was very friendly and prices also ok. In totall place where you can eat fast, but dont expect culinary adventure.
