Had a luncheon with a large group.
The food was delicious. I had the salmon and would definitely recommend it. Meals sizes were good.
The staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to split the bill. The view from the restaurant is breathtakingly beautiful. Mains were about $36 to $45. Entrees were about $20.

I ordered butter chicken and garlic naan Delivery.
The naan bread was burnt and the chicken was chewy and tasted funny.
The Delivery was almost 40 mins late (on top of the hour it estimated for delivery)
Had a few bites and chucked the rest out.
Won’t be ordering from there again.

Idyllic views, attentive staff and a delicious meal. We enjoyed a relaxed Sunday brunch here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - the food was marvellous and we savoured every morsel. Well worth the slightly higher price point of other cafes in Terrigal.

I have dined at Le Chat Noir semi regularly since I moved to the Central Coast four years ago. It has never failed to impress, and I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal here, through all the menu's various incarnations. Le Chat Noir is open for lunch and dinner 7 days; food is totally French (as one would expect), menu changes seasonally, and French favourites such as Escargot, Boeuf Bourguignon, Confit Duck and Paris mash are featured. Wine list is comprehensive with a range of French and Australian wines, and a great cocktail menu is offered too - I love the Chilli Daquiri! I dined on a Friday night with two friends recently; service was very polite and efficient, and food was excellent. We shared small plates of sourdough & French butter, and Pickled White Anchovies & Garlic Flowers on toast - this dish was sensational. For mains, one of our party ordered the Boeuf Bourguignon, and the other two, self included, opted for the Confit Duck with Lentils washed down with a lovely dry French rose. Our dessert selection was French Crepes with Lemon Butter, Creme Brulee, and Pear Tarte Tatin with Vanilla Ice Cream. Also worth ordering for sheer novelty value is the Absinthe served via a traditional 'fountain' (on the special cocktail menu). If you love French food Le Chat Noir hits the spot - definitely worth a visit, and well priced, considering the quality of the food. Delicieux!

Highly recommended. Amazing strong coffee, variety of milk choices. They support local suppliers. Eggs, seafood, bread bakers. Love the sour dough raisin, fig, almond toast with lashings of butter. The mushrooms on toast with poached eggs is to kill for. ( the huge mushrooms have tons of flavor with some herbs). The coast stack is a huge favorite for breakfast/brunch or whenever. Delicious fresh coconut water in the coconut. Yes I could go on and on. Check it out.

Stunning views and the perfect spot to impress the tourists or just relax with good food and a great coffee.
Very easy to order a coffee and end up with breakfast or lunch.
The staff are wonderful, sometimes a bit slow as they are busy but always friendly and helpful.
My favourites are the eggs Benedict any style.
Or the seafood platter or seafood tasting plate.
Always good and always accomodating.
Just a pity the don’t stay open longer.

The destination for the very best of French/ European cuisine, amazing steaks, beach side weddings and functions in Terrigal and the Central Coast of NSW
Translates as "great food, fabulous service". I should have just written it that way, but I would be doing L'isle de France a great disservice. It sounds so divine in French.
We enjoyed a family birthday dinner here on a beautifully clear and cool Friday evening. Arrived on time and was surprised to see so many waiters, yet so few patrons. At 7pm, one would expect a restaurant to be in full swing. However, I think this is more an indication of the current economic climate on the Central Coast than anything else, but it was to our benefit, as the staff to diner ratio meant we were never without attention. When things got busy later on, there still seemed to be at least 2 waiters serving our table.
L'isle de France is located over the bend on Terrigal Drive. It has a spectacular view over Terrigal Beach, however there is the initial stages of construction on a neighboring lot next door that may eventually steal a portion of the 180 degree Panorama. If you're driving, it may help to borrow your kid's Barina as there is a tiny but convenient parking lot directly under the restaurant. Terrigal CBD is not well regarded for public parking, so this was a huge relief for us.
Our delightful waiter introduced himself and poured us a glass of water with great aplomb. He made cordial conversation, before taking our drinks order - then swiftly returned with our beverages. After everyone had arrived and was seated, we were given a brief introduction to the menu and pricing. There is a very reasonable $55 per person for a 2 course meal, which we partook as our party host had brought their own cake for dessert. There is also a 3 course option for a modest upgrade in price. Sunday's and Public Holidays attract a further surcharge.
The restaurant is very well appointed with large spaces between tables, a comprehensive cellar and some very beautiful artworks. A large balcony hosts more tables with a better view, but you are subject to the Terrigal Doctor (evening onshore breeze) and it may get a little uncomfortable in the cooler months. We had a long buffet table just inside the door, which provided enough fresh air to make our night very pleasant.
Starters included a small but delicious prawn in a creamy garlic sauce, which was just beautiful. It's a pet peeve of mine, but I do hate when prawns are served in their tail shells. It may look gorgeous, but prawns are not big and although I could have easily picked it up and chewed the tail, it is just not the done thing. So, I did the best I could with my utensils and spent the rest of the entree service, gazing longingly at that untouchable prawn meat.
Husband had the crab cakes. He said they were very nice, but he detected more unidentified seafood (possibly tuna) as the dominant flavor. Plating was very pretty for every dish that was presented and our mains were just such substantial servings, that I barely had room for dessert. My chicken supreme with garden vegetables was cooked perfectly. Hint: ask for a jus or sauce as I'm sure it would send it to the next level. Husband's lamb was a triumph and the Chef's recommendation for medium rare was spot on.
Our drink's host was a true Frenchman and his delicious accent made the experience so authentic. He ensured our glasses were never empty, and he stopped by often for a quick chat. Towards the end of the night, when most diners had left - staff noticed the 3 children in our party were getting a little tired and restless. So they changed the French music to a Wiggles repertoire and Voila! Three little kiddies were mesmerized and some very grateful grownups had a few more precious minutes to enjoy their last drinks.
This is where many restaurants drop the ball. It's one thing to enjoy great food. But when it's complimented with such attentive and genuine service - you will remember your evening long after you've forgotten the bill.
A very enjoyable meal in a commanding seaside precinct.
French dining magnifique!

Great choice of breakfasts for vegetarians & health conscious ones. I enjoyed the Breaky Salad with the bacon happily substituted with Feta. Very enjoyable, friendly, efficient service with good chai tea & almond milk. Kid friendly with high chairs available. Healthy vegan & sugar free treats also available are a bonus.
