The location of this restaurant could not be worse. Hard to reach because of the tortuous one-way system of this Ile-de-France borough, it is even harder to find parking once you get there. But the rewards of this foolhardiness include food that is simply sensational, and prices that defy the laws of Economics.
Food as art carries the risk of persisting hunger. Food as surrealist art even more so. Not here, where appetite as well as all five senses will be amply gratified. Since our first visit several years ago, the staid conventional wood-dominated décor has been upgraded to glass, steel and ceramic The space seems to be somewhat larger, and the wait staff much younger and less competent than previously. But the food remains as imaginative as ever. The 41-euro menu buys three courses ( choice of 4 for each) plus a fine selection of cheeses, unfortunately badly presented and poorly explained by our waiter. The complimentary extras included an amuse bouche (Lobster and goat’s cheese raviolis in a creamy mustard sauce), and a stunning pre-desert (a glass of frozen white-chocolate mousse).
My entrée was billed as a crème brulee with Burgundy snails and garlic, and was flamed with cognac by the resident arsonist. My wife’s comprised three perfectly plump scallops on a crunchy cheese biscuit topped with a luxurious cole-slaw of beetroot flavored with passion-fruit. For the main course, I selected the snowy-white cod-steak with exquisitely crisped skin, placed in a crunchy buttery leek-tart along with diced onions and tomatoes, and accompanied by a sauce of anise. The breast of chicken coated with roasted almonds chosen by my wife came with girolle mushrooms, a chestnut sauce, and a delectable range of tiny vegetables. Two spectacular Deserts, the pinnacle of the confectioner’s art, followed: a crafty mélange of fried pineapple, passion-fruit pulp, and a mousse of rum and dark chocolate; Paris Brest --- a donut of choux pastry sliced to provide a “sandwich” of almond and hazel-nut fourre, and a side-portion of carmel ice-cream. A trio of delectable gourmandizes concluded this feast. An important tip: if you do drive, arrange to stop outside the door and seek help with the parking; they know where, and you don’t. Bon appétit.

Arriving at this restaurant (based on TA reviews), I thought I arrived in a sort of football canteen. But that was very charming. Main part of the restaurant id down in the cellar and I enjoyed myself.
The food was extremely good. Tartare de Canard and steak were both very good. Chips and bread were all home cooked. House wine was OK and the dessert was very good as well. I absolutely recommend this restaurant when you stay in the North Paris industrial area.

This is actually my first rating but this small creperie outside of Paris just convinced me and really deserves a great rating! Have been in a few creperies around Paris and non of them even nearly can create this extremely delicious crepes. Additionally, they are even cheaper than it is usual. Just go take the trip out of the city center and enjoy great French cuisine! Appreciez!

Great Italian food although disappointing that the entire main course menu wasn't available during the week...just starters and Pizzas. However, on the second night they made a Lasagne to help celebrate the birthday of one of our team. Limited but really good food

Les années passent et le restaurant l’Escale est toujours un endroit pour déguster un couscous savoureux. N’hésitez pas à commander un méchoui en prévenant avant et demandez le bien croustillant ! Juste délicieux

Ate 3 times during the week as the hotel was nearby. It's good, honest place to eat with good quality, homely food.

Needed a place to eat solo and wanted some french cuisine without breaking the bank. This had decent reviews and I decided to give it a try. Well the owner was one of the nicest french guy I ever met and he even took $ off my bill because they had a large crowd and the service was a little slow. I had a really tasty magret de canard and for 15 euros it was tremendous!
