The restaurant is only accessible by car, nicely decorated with friendly and competent service. The menu has nice choices, with emphasis on local specialties. If you don't like goat cheese, ask before ordering, to avoid dissapointment. Very nice wines, good advice from the waitress.

The food here was simply stunning all around - presentation, smell and taste. We picked the 7-course tasting menu for our dinner and, as it happened, we picked the opposite dish from each other for each course. Despite the mighty 18 dishes between ourselves, we pretty much cleaned our plates ... Top marks to the chef and his team who are clearly hugely talented and passionate about their cooking. Each dish was a piece of art on the plate - a feast to the eyes, the nose and the taste buds (whoever made that amazing avocado dessert and that classic dish pear and chestnut should be awarded with a medal - they were truly a labour of love!). It should definitely be rewarded with a star on the Michelin's list.

Quaint restaurant in this little village...dining room full of antique clocks and very cosy as not able to eat outside.
Lovely family run atmosphere with attentive service and very good food well presented from an a la carte style menu.
Expect to pay about 70 euros for 2.
Well worth a detour if visiting this area of the Luberon.

Le Platane is a cheerful, warm, somewhat folksy, husband and wife restaurant. We had read reviews and visited the website so we did not arrive with great expectations (which was a good thing!). My gazpacho was very flavorful and the high point of my dinner, my filet au poivre was a disappointing piece of beef with an unremarkable sauce and my fruit compote was so tart that it should have been the topping of a sugary meringue (which it wasn't!). Others in our large party had somewhat better luck. The cheerful demeanor of the chef/owner's wife who waited on our table enabled us to have a satisfactory experience, notwithstanding our culinary disappointment. If I were a local, Le Platane would not be my go-to weekday restaurant.

Great service. Absolutely awesome wood oven pizzas. Loved the half portion with a side salad. And the desserts...OMG!!! Out of this world delicious. Like and follow my posted pics of my meal on Instagram @firstclass_001
Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat very well!

In one week we went to l'estrade three times for dinner and each time had really great food. I particularly liked the goats cheese deep fried in a sheet of filo wrapped like a pancake. Very generous portions. My other starter of crayfish tails and grapefruit was huge too. Presentation of every dish was exceptional. One evening we shared a starter and a pudding so that we could manage three courses. Duck with cherries was good, also gigot d'agneau, and navarin d'agneau. There was always fish too on the menu. The pichet of rose wine was good value and good quality. The tarte tatin was one of the best I have tasted. You must book. It's very popular and not a huge restaurant. Ask for a seat outside. The owners, two women, are very friendly and are very happy to explain the menu. Ernst the resident cat is a bit of a character...

During our tour of Provence (6 adults and a baby) we had dinner at the Petit Ecole at the recommendation of our host. The place is small and unpretentious from the outside, but relaxed and romantic inside. The service was excellent and the waitress very helpful and polite despite our ignorance in French. The food itself was excellent, and we enjoyed all 3 courses. All 6 of us agreed this was one of the best restaurants we had been to in Provence.
Tip: make a reservation ahead of time, as the restaurant fills up quickly.

Panoramic restaurant, in a charming hotel. Terrace and view on Luberon. Traditional and creative cooking, fresh products of the country and the season. Open noon and evening, except Thursday. Reception of the groups and the banquets.
We had an amazing meal with another couple. The service was excellent & friendly, she was very patient with our rusty French. We sat on the Terrace which is just beautiful with a wide view over the gorgeous Luberon valley & surrounding hills. The set menu for €31 euros was fabulous with good choice & just delicious. Would highly recommend.

Vous Connaissez Déjà Le Restaurant "le Bistrot" J'aimerais Commenter L'autre Restaurant - Le Gourmet
I can't remember any dish that we had. They were truly forgettable. All I remember is that it was unpleasant to have wasted a dining opportunity in the Luberon region, which has fabulous restaurants, on this place.

Our first stop the next morning after checking into our 10 day rental in the village of Saignon was this place for a baguette, bread, croissants and coffee. The bill came to the astronomical amount of over €30.00! When we got back with our "goodies" we discovered that one of the coffees was made with the same grinds from the first one so was completely pale and without flavour. We were not impressed with the bread either which was very sour and the croissants tasted stale. I believe they deliberately overcharged us and gave us substandard fare thinking we were just passing through and it wouldn't matter. We ended up going back repeatedly to a boulangerie in Apt de Provence which provided very fresh croissants, baguettes, cakes, pizza, burgers etc at very reasonable prices. The bill usually was never more than €10 which is what it should have cost at this boulangerie. They also touched all of the bread and pastries after handling the money. Best to avoid.
