The Loserhütte offers unparalleled views across Altaussee and the Dachstein massif beyond, and is well placed for hikers, skiers and cyclists throughout the year. The food is excellent, with a wide range to choose from. Unfortunately, the service provided by the waiting staff one night in July were unfriendly and unenthusiastic, which really lets this otherwise fantastic restaurant down.

We ate at this restaurant twice & had wonderful food & excellent service both times. The soups, salads, & main entrees were all very delicious!! I had the Char on one occasion which was caught in Lake Grundlsee!! Easily accessible from Seeblick Hotel. Highly recommend!

Head chef, Stefan Haas, has made himself a name with his innovative interpretation of classic dishes. The new concept of the Seeblick Restaurant takes us back a step. Tradition not innovation is the motto! The menu card includes old favourites such as the original Viennese escalope – „Wiener Schnitzel“, braised beef – „Tafelspitz“ and „Schlutzkrapfen“ – pasta pockets filled with spinach and cheese. To round the meal off there is regionally sourced gingerbread parfait and a sweet soufflé „Salzburger Nockerln“. Freshly prepared quality produce, largely locally-sourced is an integral part if Stefan Haas‘ quality credo. As the name „Seeblick“ suggests, you can enjoy the magnificent view of Lake Grundlsee and the impressive surrounding Mountains while dining. The Seeblick Restaurant is open daily.
Gorgeous Terrace view overlooking the entire lake. Attentive, professional and friendly service. However: while food was generally good, the chef still seems to be trying to find his style. Right now, the combination of local and Spanish elements is not convincing; also contains too much chichi that detracts from original recipes: best example the Salzburger Nockerl. To be noted: presence of large groups of Chinese tourists.

The setting on the river Traun makes this restaurant perfect for an outdoor dinning experience in the summer. The food is high quality and well portioned. My wife and I enjoyed this place so much we came back twice. I loved the mushroom risotto with Steak and the seafood pasta my wife had was very good. The Apple Strudel for desert was also very well made and tasty.

This used to be the "Kaisers'" patisserie and lives very much on past laurels. Visited some 20 years ago (early 1990's) and am disappointed with the drop in standards. Had been to "Zauner" in Bad Ischl the day before and was expecting similar standard. NOT SO. Lewandowsky will nolonger be a 'must' on my itinerary.

Wonderful setting on bank of lake opposite Hallstatt. Nice selection of drinks, local food and excellent home made juices and cakes.

From the moment we sat down we were treated to a pure gastronomic delight, from the six different butter accompaniments to the bread, the Amuse Bouche, the exquisite presentation of all dishes, to the chocolate and fruit at the end. This should definitely be a Michelin starred restaurant and I have eaten at a few of these, this being far better than some. I would particularly like to mention the waiter who was only young, was utterly charming, and shook our hand when we left. I can't praise this restaurant highly enough.

Loserhutte is located in an amazing small ski resort in Aultaussee. The restaurant perches on the edge of the mountain with amazing views. The food is good too with efficient Teutonic service!

Enjoy our unmatched location with the unique view on the Mountains surrounding lake Altaussee. We comfort you with fresh products from the region, cooked and served with authenticity and passion. In general, one spends far too little time on the lake shore
My girlfriend and I decided to visit Altaussee on a Sunday for a quick little dinner on the lake, after a long day visiting the region. We saw signs pointing to the Strandcafe and figured that sounded great. After walking 1,5 km to the Strandcafe, we walked in and were promptly told (in not too friendly a manner) they were closed. This was a nasty surprise, especially since the opening hours on a Sunday are 11 am to 10 pm, and it was 5:30 in the afternoon. Nowhere along the way to the (rather isolated) Strandcafe were any signs saying they were closed. This Restaurant will never see my business again, but they probably don't care, since enough tourists come by to fill their seats. A shame really, that such a beautiful spot isn't filled by a better establishment.

The family attended a wedding reception here, and stayed the night. The location is right in the middle of a beautifully rustic landscape, surrounded by vast tracts of county to hike or cycle. Attending the reception here was a lovely experience- full of charm. The staff made us very welcome, the food was good, if nothing exceptional, perhaps more suitable after an afternoon of hiking that after a wedding. The beer was excellent! We stayed in a communal room with about 15 beds- despite our apprehension we were not awoken by revellers at all hour, but instead had a great night's sleep. Awaking in the early morning in the hills with the traditional cattle in the meadows and deer roaring in the woods completed the fantastic experience.
