Located in the city center, this pastry shop serves the best traditional sweets and Deserts of Santarém region.
"Pampilhos", "Celestes", are just some of the delicacies possible to be tasted in here or take away.
Is the pastry shop in Santarém that I will return everytime I visit the city.

Located near Santarem and at one hour from Lisbon, it's a 54 years old and renowned rural restaurant. Try the home specialities: all are country cuisine, a little bit heavy, very well seasonned. It's definitevely the opposite of nouvelle cuisine. The vin de la maison is new and smooth. The Deserts are common. The staff is frienly.

We have visited this restaurant many times and we always have sopa da pedra [Stone Soup] which is fantastic, then we had a Squid Kebab and a black pig Kebab.
Too much food the servers are very fast and efficient, the price is very reasonable for the quality of food.

we were on a public holiday in Almeirim, had to have lunch and went there because the three 'stars' of town (Pinheiro, Toucinho and Forno) were hopelessly full. The food was poor (the famous "sopa da pedra" tasted like military cuisine and the "black pork" wasn't really the real deal), the winelist didn't have anything exiting and we fell for the housewine we did not like. The service was slow but at least friendly. We left deceived and would not recommend therefore the place to anybody. At least, it was cheap (but that doesn't really compensate)

On our way home to the Algarve we drove through Almeirim looking for a restaurant because we were starving and it was about 5.30 in the afternoon, so not easy to find anything open. We looked inside this place and immediately liked its decoration, the owner was very friendly and told us to come, the hour was not a problem... After switching on the lights he came with some wonderful small dishes; olives, octopus salad, pig ear salad, small fishes with onions, the local oven baked bread and of course a bottle of their red wine. After these starters we had an enormous bowl of 'sopa da pedra' (a meaty bean soup). We bought a bottle of wine to take home with us, since we really liked it. Service was extremely friendly.

Restaurante familiar com 25 anos de experiência , comida típica portuguesa entre os grelhados de um ótimo peixe fresco e muito boa carne. Dispomos de três salas modernas
Situated in a suburb a little too far for walking from the historic town centre you will need a taxi or your own transport to get here. In my opinion it is well worth the extra effort, at least based on our lunch experience on a Sunday in November.
The restaurant was packed; I think we were the only non-Portuguese guests. Lots of family groups. Always a good sign when a restaurants is filled with locals, isn't it?
The waiters and the owner spoke excellent English. There is a menu in English, and their fresh seafood and their cakes are on display, so there will be no language issues.
We had smoked ham and sausages, cheese and olives as starters - a mouth-watering combination.
We then both picked a squid-shrimp-vegetable spit each. They just looked too tempting. They came with broccoli (over-cooked) and potatoes (nothing special). The grilled spits were the better, sheer fantastic. Squid on a grill can easily go wrong and give an outrageously rubbery result, but not here! Soft, tasty, delicious, and so were the other ingredients.
White house wine was of good quality and accompanied the meal beautifully.
The portions were large, and we were so full that there was no space in our stomachs for tasting their tempting cakes, unfortunately.
Highly recommended!

We are a small restaurante in the heart of Ribatejo and serve sophisticated Traditional Portuguese Fast Food (Bifanas) with a twist. Each one of our "Bifanas" is an homage to a relevant Portuguese.
For those who like Bifanas ( Pork filet Sandwich ) and for those who never tried before, just go there.
For those who know the original house in the village of Muge, have to come here.
They elevated a “simple” Bifana to a Chef level.
The restaurant also serve a “Dish of the day” at lunch as an alternative.
The Deserts are good as well.
Service polite, friendly and professional.
Modern and looking very nice place.
