Excellent food, welcoming atmosphere, good value and quality, this has been a very reliable choice in Albenga for many years. In an ancient stone house deep in the old walled core of this Roman garrison town, you can count on splendid seafood and other dishes true to Ligurian tradition. In warmer weather, it is quite enjoyable to sit outside in their enclosed patio. In cooler months, the vaulted dining room proves a very relaxing place to while away a few hours.
Despite one previous commentator, we have always found the service here to be highly professional. Today my wife had a superb Calameretti pared with orange slices, and I started with an elegant and slightly spicy fish soup piled high with the freshest of shell fish. Since we always are having an abundance of fish along the coast, we opted for a rabbit prepared in the manner of a lightly fried schnitzel and delicate slices of veal with thinly sliced Parmesan. Both dishes were quite good, but from past experience the pasta and fish dishes would have been even more satisfying. An orange infused semifreddo and a creamy mandarin sorbetto were elegantly plated and an entirely satisfactory ending to a splendid lunch.
The wine list is extensive, thoughtful and fairly priced. Stick to the seafood and you will be giving it five stars.

We have been vacationing in Liguria for 30+ years. Times have changed and many of the old school restaurants are gone. Fewer people are willing or able to spend the time and/or money for the quality and elegance which used to be readily available. Fortunately, there are still a few places, like Pernambucco, that hold those traditions dear. Those that remain are family owned places where the discipline, passion and integrity translate into memorable and leisurely meals.
With quiet and thoughtful background music, nice tablecloths and flowers, and above all, splendid service from an old school waiter right out of central casting, this is the place to savor a superior meal and fine wine. Speaking of wine, while the Carte is extensive, if you are having seafood you will do very well with wines from the family vineyard in beautiful Ranzo.
The splendid ingredients, traditional dishes and ultimately a fine coffee are all very agreeable. This is not "cutting edge" gastronomy, but excellent cooking from a chef that fully understands and fulfills the spirit of this region. We hope they will continue for generations to come.

The restaurant was founded in 2002 in the city center and in a short time become one of the reference points for quality cuisine of Albenga, then in March 2013 the dream set me up for a new adventure turns into reality with the new location on the beach in the most suggestive of the coast. Babette serves traditional seafood cooked with Mediterranean flair and imagination by the owner Fabio Bonavia and its young and close-knit staff. The menus change every season drawing ingredients from the Gardens Ingauni and the Ligurian Sea! A special proposal is reserved to noon with a dedicated menu with tasty dishes offered at affordable price! Bread, pasta and desserts are all homemade Extensive wine cellar with a selection of French wines and sweet wines by the glass
Fantastic location by the seaside but the service was neither happy nor helpful. Unfortunately the food was a big disappointment. Except for a delicious grilled squid it was overcooked, bland and in general prepared without the high standard and care we expect from the Italian cuisine.

In cooperation with Renzini Company, we offer wine aperitifs matched with italian typical cold cuts and cheese. Adding to this we suggest a pasta's line flavoured with typical products of our land. We also propose typical food like wine, olive oil, pesto, marmalade, pate...
Nice authentic restaurant in the old center of Albenga. This medieval center used to be a forgotten and old place but now it has been cleaned up and it is really nice. Not as busy as neighbouring village Alassio.
The restaurant is specialised in antipasti and pasta dishes. We didn't have a huge choice as they choose to offer less dishes well prepared rather than a large choice. Ravioli with a monkfish sauce! Absolutely delicious... Good wine and antipasti, nice setting and especially the Italian back ground music! To be recommended!

Who would have thought ... It was the best lunch I have had in a long time!
Alex serves really amazing food and it is all nicely presented (see the pictures), cooked to perfection, all very flavorful and for good prices...with amazing views on the Mediterranean and the Gallinara Island.
The food we had was really amazing! Fresh seafood and fish cooked without over cooking them, beautiful sardines and shrimps and calamari battered to perfection before being fried...and the desserts...out of this world!!!!
They also have a Bagni where you can roast in the sun and go for a swim. The beach is maybe not the "nicest" but the access to the water makes up for it and the views as well.
Our new place for lunch...or dinner ;-)

English spoken, fish food restaurant, home made dessert.
The particularity of this restaurant managed by a young couple is that they cook fish very well but don't keep it in stock. Thus if one likes fish, she/he has to accompany the owner next door to select it fresh in a fish shop. The result is outstanding. We had one of the very best seafood spaghetti as a starter, followed by a oven baked fish and a delicious home made tiramisu. Such a meal is of course more expensive than taking their other specialities, but really worth it. A place we would recommend. Incidentally the lady cooks and on demand a gluten free meal can be ordered.

We had both lunch as well as dinner at this restaurant. The food, wine and service were consistently good! Both seafood as well as meat were very a high quality and carefully prepared. The recommended white wine (Roero Arneis) was highly enjoyable and friendly priced. Both owners run the place, where the woman offers very pleasant personal service to the guests and the man really knows how to cook. Highly recommended!
