Ajaccio, Corsica's main city, is fun to visit at any time of year. But if you're a secret (or not-so-secret) Napoleon Bonaparte groupie, plan to be there on August 15 and join the celebration of the birthday of Ajaccio's most famous son. Casa Buonaparte, Napoleon's family home and birthplace, is worth a visit, as is the town cathedral. Or just enjoy the Corsican sun.

Had a lovely dinner at L'Altru Versu last night - great views from the terasse, really tasty starter and main course, good wine and very friendly and attentive staff BUT you completely lost us on the dessert fridge. I don't understand why the restaurant would think it's a good idea to ask their guests to get up and have a look in the fridge what we felt like for our dessert, instead of presenting the options on a menu and plate it in the kitchen. I really hope whoever is in charge takes this in and makes some changes - it's such a nice place with such great food and staff - the fridge makes the restaurant look cheap. We had a really wonderful experience except for this, and will definately come back in the future (best lobster we've had in the Med!).

Based on the reviews on TripAdvisor we visited this restaurant. We were not disappointed. What great food!
We both had tuna carpaccio as a starter and ombroise (kind of sea bass) as a main dish. The tuna was pure and beautifully marinated. The sides served with the fish were really great. A nice variety of vegetables and beautifully prepared. Flavors were fresh and delicate. We thoroughly enjoyed the way the food, setting and service.
With the food we ordered a bottle of white and a bottle of water. The white wine recommended was really very good.
We really value good food and wine and we really appreciated these servings.
Value for money is great from our point of view. Quality is way above what we've enjoyed so far and price is very much at similar levels.
If you appreciate good food and fine wine and a friendly host in a nice setting, don't hesitate and book a table here and enjoy!

We tried to drop in but it was fully booked. Reserved table the evening after. The pizza was amazing. The place is busy but very nice. We have rebooked.

We were not liking the touristy vibe of Ajaccio, but found this place on Trip Advisor. It was on a picturesque, quiet alleyway and had some incredible food and wine. We had the bruschetta named after the place, which had arugula, tomato sauce, goat cheese, and honey! It was an incredible taste combination. I recommend this place with all my highest praise!

One person serves one cooks and it is great, possibly one of the strongest Gin & tonics I have ever had. The food is all freshly cooked and tastes great would recommend every time.

We spend the last evening of our Corsica holiday at Ghjulia. We selected the restaurant based on the high ratings of tripadvisor and arrived with some expectations. No doubt , the reception was very warm and welcoming. The first disappointment was that many of the fish plates were not available because it was not the season as we were explained in a friendly and comforting way. If it's not the season for certain fish, shouldn't be there a menu that is adjusted to this natural lack of supply. After our order we waited 50 min to get the starter, although except us, there was only one other table occupied in the whole restaurant. Dying from hunger we asked for some bread that helped us to survive until the starters finally came. The size of the starters and main dishes is truly big and the local bacon is used in abundance in slices of 4mm thickness, wrapped around the filet, on top of the goat cheese salad . Less is sometimes more and I would have preferred the tasty bacon in much thinner slices. The filet mignon was a bit over cooked and not juicy any more. By the time we finished the main course the restaurant was full and the poor waitress trying hard to calm down impatient guests. We decided to skip dessert and take a ice cream in the street (with no waiting time). Conclusion: tough luck for us that evening due to the long waiting time ( they were missing a waitress, this can always happen) however the presentation and quality of the food on that evening didnt confirm the hype around this restaurant. The waitress deserves my compliment for managing the situation to the best of her abilities

Only had time for a quick visit & a light meal. I had heard the food & service were good and the prices reasonable, and they were. It's a good restaurant & I'll be back for a full meal when I return.

I guess this restaurant is great if you love burgers. If you order anything else, food is kind of mediocre. I ordered a gump salad (with shrimp and avocado salsa), which was not bad, but too bland for my taste. The burger my boyfriend ordered looked a lot more inspired than my salad. So if you want to visit this place, just order a burger.
The Terrace is nice though, I always love eating outside. So it didn't matter much that food took a little bit longer than we got accustomed to in Corsica.
