Strategically located at the crossroads of Nigeria's ethnic and religious groups, Abuja is home to the country's Presidential Branch, National Assembly and Supreme Court. The impressive Aso Rock rises majestically over the city's central government district. The diverse architecture of the city is reflected in notable sites like the National Mosque, the National Christian Centre and the National Stadium. Daily markets throughout the city offer everything from pottery to local fruits and breads.

Okay, so my review might be biased since I am Indian. Have heard so much about Wakkis and their Indian food. Was actually very disappointed, have been to the restaurant twice. The service is actually quite terrible, you get better service if you are white!
More than anything, the food is substandard. Tried the kebabs - it was just marinated wrong and under cooked. The butter nan had hardly any butter and the chicken tikka masala was so and so. Overall, a total disappointment.

Most evenings you go to Al-Basha, it's basically empty. It's a nice enough setting inside, and the outside area is spacious and serene. The food is certainly decent, though you would be wise to only stick to the Lebanese fare. Compared to other Lebanese outlets in town, it doesn't serve noticeably better or worse food. It's the most highly priced though, and with little reason. There are no options for someone to just eat a solo meal either, you have a to get a few plates.
It is however clearly an unfriendly place, and the floor staff are consistently indifferent or presumptuous with customers. This is the only place I consciously don't tip waiters in Abuja. There generally seems to be many more staff on than necessary, frequently bickering amongst each other. There's just a weird and unwelcoming vibe, particularly from the head waiter, who just seems obnoxious and dishonest. There are better places around.

Plot 66 Mississippi St, Maitama
I was in town briefly and asked for a good Chinese restaurant for dinner with my friend and his family.
Chopsticks was recommended. The ambiance is great no doubt but I found the food not as hyped up and was also expensive. The spicy fish ordered had too many bones and so was not enjoyable. We were not warned and so could not share it with the kids.
They had run out of chicken for spring rolls early in the evening so we had to make do with vegetable spring rolls. The rest of the meal was enjoyed by my friend and his family but I thought it could have been better.

Our Nigerian friends highly recommended Jevinik. Given how crowded it was, others in Abuja obviously felt the same way. We had the vegetable soup with chicken and a side of fu fu. The chicken was moist and very flavorful. The veggies consists of a kale like green that had a smoky taste. There was enough food that my wife and I had a single shared order. We were satisfied though we rarely have an opportunity to eat Nigerian food.

Have a friend that's craving Nigerian while you're craving Indian food? Nkoyo is the place to go. Co-located with Masala Wahala, I have often gone there and ordered dishes from both menus, and the food is very good, the ambiance is nice and in the evenings they have a guy who plays the piano as you dine. I enjoy going here

I've been to this restaurant many times over the years and this unequivocally remains the best culinary experience in Abuja. The food is always amazing truly amazing I have not been disappointed even once. The range includes South Indian, Nigerian and continental. The service is attentive, decor is uplifting simple and very nature inspired. The food is always served piping hot, portions are gratifying, presentation nice without being presumptuous and flavours fresh and alive. One detail that I always appreciate and only see at masala wahala is that all the plates, cutlery, crystal and serving bowls are spotless and polished when placed on your table. Very clean. All round always a good experience. A "must visit when in Abuja" place!

Yahuza is one of the most popular outdoor spots for roasted beef, chicken, gizzard, liver, kidney and masa (locally made rice bread) with many branches across Abuja for easy access. If you are in Abuja, you should have this. ⚠️: if you are not tolerant of spicy food, I would advise DO NOT TRY THIS!!

A stylish Lebanese restaurant in Abuja. Good food, friendly staff and wonderful ambiance, especially at night.

in this oasis run by Togolese Victor, staffed by polite discrete and well trained staff you can find amongst the best food in Abuja. the acid test for me is lamb which often in Nigeria is really goat or cooked so badly it may as well be. The roast lamb I had with a vegetable and rice mix (where the veg was al dente and not soggy) was tasty and tender with a succulent sauce. The wine list looked reasonable tho' we didnt drink wine that evening, as did the desert menu. i will go back and sample a wider range of the menu next time I make Abuja.
