To preserve the Marmalade experience at the respect of our patrons the age requirement for children is 7 years or older. Marmalade serves tasting menus only of 4,5,or 6 courses. Guests are allowed to select their own course thus creating an individualized tasting menu. Each tasting menu at the table may be different. We don't offer a Ala Carte format for dining. Dinner will take a minimum of two hours at your Leisure. Groups of 6 people or more will be invited to taste Chef's seasonal tasting menu of 15 courses. Dress appropriately please, no shorts and beach sandals in the restaurant.
I’m sorry to report Marmalade delivered a disappointing experience at Mainland costs. At this price point, I’ve enjoyed many world-class dining experiences and this was far from it. Both food (the absolutely most important element) and service missed the mark completely.
The food: Only half of the dishes were good or decent. The rest were boring, underseasoned or simply not good. I can overlook service issues if the food is truly stellar, but most of the dishes were just ok. No wow factor here. Best dish of the night was the chocolate dessert. The lobster risotto also hit the mark with tender rice and plentiful lobster. Worst was the lamb tagine where the sauce was thick and odd. The halibut also underwhelmed, depending on a miso broth that couldn’t carry the dish.
The Service: All Waitstaff seemed frazzled, running around, without signs of any wait assistants. Serving a multi course dinner with wine pairings is not a one-person task. Wine pairing need explanation (only half of the time pairing were explained). Timing should be on point. Tables should be cleared completely after every course. Our waitress was gone most of the dinner. I can’t blame her completely; this is a sign of poor administration. The chef/manager are to blame here. This is fine dining folks—you should know better! Needless to say I’m not returning. San Juan deserves better.

Excellent service , food and attention . went to have a business meeting dinner with corporate partners and I was impressed with the service and food.
You almost felt the server was there just for you . I would definitely recommend this place for future dinners . It also is a great place for anniversary celebration

We came to this surprisingly classy restaurant as a family with two kids, completely underdressed but were treated extremely well. The food is typical Puerto Rican with a creative touch, and it's not limited to the 3-4 dishes you can eat at every other restaurant. They do have proper silverware and tableware, no plastic dishes and "glasses".
Benny the waiter is also a good "sommelier" and recommended an excellent Chardonnay. Not cheap but well worth its money. He was very helpful.
All the dishes were very tasty and well prepared. This restaurant served the best white rice and beans I have ever had in Puerto Rico. I'm coming here since 2003. I definite recommendation.

We were recommended this place by our Airbnb host. It is not as good as other coffees in San Juan. It is also near the crew ship terminal, so you get a lot of people and it doesn't feel like Puerto Rico. I wouldn't go here again. The coffee was decent, but the staff was not the friendliest.

Eat where the locals come when they visit Old San Juan. Located off the beaten path, this neighborhood bistro serves a range of creative dishes along with some comfort classics. Using fresh ingredients you can expect some great sandwiches, a selection of salads, fresh ceviche & quiche, yummy soups, and more.
We went based on TripAdvisor reviews for brunch. The food was very fresh and clean - a great alternative to the mostly fried local fare. The coffee and fresh brewed tea was well enjoyed and the special sparkling juices were delicious. Order the side of bacon, seems to be done with a maple or honey glaze thats super tasty. We were so pleased with this clean eating alternative that we went back a few nights later for dinner specifically for the Leaning Tower which did not disappoint.
I would recommend you go early for brunch and avoid the rush. Our server both times was Aurelien who was great - very attentive and helpful!

The restaurant was recommended by a friend, so we stopped for dinner. The restaurant is huge upstairs and a bit smaller downstairs. The food itself was less than spectacular. We were expecting a little more in the way of quality. Too much salt on everything. The wait staff was pretty good though.

It can be challenging for a vegetarian in Old San Juan, so it was nice to find this pleasant healthful restaurant on a busy street. Get the avocado stuffed with greens, tomatoes, and some very nice cheese. Everything was fresh and delicious. Add the side Chilean salad (tomato, onion, cilantro) for more flavor. My omnivore spouse enjoyed the avocado stuffed with chicken as well.
We sat in a small side room that was a cool and quiet respite from the street.
With drinks the cost was $50 for two people before tip, mid-range for a full-service place in Old San Juan.

Grappa is a small Italian restaurant in Dorado. Food was very good and non typical...ie no Lasagna or spaghetti and meatball but more creative italian dishes. Quality of the food was good, prices not unreasonable and excellent service. As mentioned in other review, parking is a bit of issue but don't let that deter you...oh...deserts were excellent as well

Located on the rooftop of the Hotel Milano this lively rooftop restaurant serves up great and authentic Puerto Rican food in an informal atmosphere at great prices. The best Mofongo in Old San Juan. Buy 1 Get 1 Free Mojitos every day from open until 5:00pm! Come check out the best rooftop view of the Old City and enjoy great local food. Family Friendly!
What a great find! We were staying a few blocks away and found this restaurant. You enter from the hotel, take the elevator to the 4th floor and then walk up one flight of stairs. The manager, and all the staff, were great. The wait for a table was 30 minutes -- no problem - as we enjoyed a few amazing mojitos. The food was very good and a great ambience on the rooftop.

LTL is the premier craft beer bar in the Caribbean! We have up to 50 taps and 100+ bottles and cans of the best beers from Puerto Rico, US and Europe including rare and limited releases. The menu blends the best of North American and Puerto Rican Bar room favorites. Our wings, fish tacos and beer fries are legendary. Full Menu is available until close for all your late night cravings and Hangover Brunch is available Saturday - Monday until 4pm.
Lúpulo is exactly that bar on the corner with a great band and waaaay-above-average food where you want to meet your friends for a beer connoisseur challenge. They have pretty much everything and if you’re hesitating they’ll generously pour you a taste to help you decide. This bar is so well managed you don’t even have to be a friend of the bartender to get great service. Make it a point to stop here every time you’re in Old San Juan to compensate for the long walk back to wherever you found parking.
