Ios embodies that classic Greek island ambiance—hillside clusters of blue-roofed white buildings, an amphitheater, golden beaches that spill into the sapphire sea. The spindly windmills of Ios are like something from a storybook, and a visit to the Tomb of Homer (yep, that Homer) is an exercise in awed contemplation. When the sun goes down, party it up at one of Ios’ many electrifying nightspots. Favorites are Astra Cocktail Bar and the (kind of insane) alt-rock scene, The Orange Bar.

Caught the local bus from the port to Manganari beach. 7 euros each way takes about 50 minutes. Great beach with sunbeds for 2 euros. Lovely place to swim in fairly warm sea water. Waiter service from the taverna for drinks. A must place to visit.

A peaceful, clothing-optional beach, great for swimming and sunbathing.
A beautiful large bay of fine golden sand . Clear blue water and some nice cafe's bars and restaurants. Everything we wished for with a great vibe. We were late in the season so I am sure it is much busier in peak season. We will be back, just loved it here.

Good road access from Chora but very few people get this far. This beach is exposed to the weather and also little shade. No amenities. There is a beach club with cafe half way up the hill but pass this by and visit the lovely family taverna a bit higher up for refreshment and wc.

We have visited this tavern 2 times during our visit to Ios island. First visit was for dinner. We have tried every Greek meze together with Ouzo and it was very delicious. The tavern is very clean and the owner is very friendly. They give good advice and recommendations.
second time was during day time as they have a very nice small beach in front of them with comfortable beach beds and umbrellas. You could swim, sun tan, order drinks or go to the tavern itself to have lunch. You could stay until beautiful sunset.

Very nice soft sand beach for relaxing with family and friends. Walking distance from the port. Waters are very clean. There are some bars behind the beach for drinks and snacks Some parts of the beach are organised with umbrellas and sand beds

Going here is the fun part, highly recommend hiring a quad bike and going on a adventure.
Doesn't matter if you get lost, there is something nice to see at the end of every road on IOS.
That said, the tomb itself is questionable, but can't argue that it's a amazing view.
We went June and has the road pretty much to ourself, but beware of giant crazy flying bugs and bees. These things must be on steroids and they had the aggressive attitude to match !!!

Though it looks and it is high on the heel, the access is relatively easy and worth the 10-15 min walk. The sunset view is amazing and you have a great view of the Chora and the suburb around.

Stunning beach that can only be reached by boat unless you have the key to get through the gate. We visited by boat as guests at the Agalia Luxury Suites and we were amazed at the facilities available there. A secluded bay hidden away and shielded from the winds that can be strong around Ios. Water may not be suitable for young families as it gets deep a short distance from the shore.

The Museum in euros it was very basic. We would have expected to see more about the island and then maybe the curation of the museum could have been organise in a more creative and inspiring way. However it is good to see that at least there is a museum .
