Al-Hofuf (also Hofuf , Hofof' or Hufuf, also known as Al-Hasa and Al-Ahsa) (Arabic: الهفوف al-Hufūf) is the major urban center in the Al-Ahsa Oasis in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. It is also very well known for being one of the largest date producers in the world, and for its old souks and palaces.

It is a nice place to visit with your family and friends. The natural limestone formations make you feel amazed. The interesting thing about this mountain caves is that it is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Entrance fee is 50 Saudi Riyal for adults and free for children. The visit will take about 1 to 2 hours. This historical place is magnificent with the beautiful formations of the sedimentary rocks and the panoramic view of the palm trees from the top.

Located in the center of Al-Hasa close to Ibrahim palace and the oldest bazar market in Al-Hasa. This souq is very old place for traders along ages ,recently it has been restored as the old souq was completely destroyed by a huge fire. Most common traditional Arabian staples can be found here: spices, ouds, perfumes, incense, garments, baskets, colorful tea pots etc. The stores are well organized and fascinates with all those colors and smells.

We were told that it opens at 9:00 AM and we were there. Noticed later that opening time is 9:30 AM. So, beware of opening hours otherwise you will waste your time going and coming. Many shops and restaurants. Nice walk and then had breakfast. Many shops don't allow men. Either ladies or families. Nice perfume shop

This beach was the last minute decision we took before ending our Al Hasa tour. We had some hours to spend and how glad we were when we found this.

The timings can make your visit difficult, but if you do have a chance, you must visit this location. Initially built by the occupying Turkish forces headed by Ibrahim Pasha, the fort was later turned into the central command post under King Abdelaziz Al Saud. You can see the old stables, and officers quarters, mosque, and of course, since the fort was built by the Turks, the Turkish bath. The fort is also a great place to visit during the yearly held historical and cultural festival, Hasana Falla.

16th May 2013: We reached Jawatha Masjid by 4:15pm. It was in the middle of the desert. It was also closed but the door was not locked so we were able to open it. The ruins of the original masjid are not left. It has a small park around it. We spent half hour there.
Jawatha Mosque also incorrectly spelled Al-Jawana is located in the village of Al-Kilabiyah. It was the earliest mosque built in east Arabia. The site is still used for prayer.

I visited this museum again on Friday, 1st May 2015 at 5:15pm with colleagues but it was closed. As per its operating time it should have been open, there were no other people/cars there and the entrance looked like as if it has been closed for a while. I am not sure if it has been closed for good, plz check in advance if you are planning to visit it.
