Slovakia's first national park features dozens of species of plants of animals.
The Slovakian part of the Tatra National Park is by far better organized than the Polish part. There is a train that connects towns such as Tatranska Lomnica, Stary Smokovec and Strbske Pleso in case you start your trail in one place and end in another. The trails are mostly well kept, clean and well signed, and most of the Valleys have a mountain chalet in which you can hide from the rain or have some snack or lunch, and you can even sleep there. Some trails are suitable for everybody and some others are more challenging, the most difficult ones have chains for support. I recommend good mountain shoes (some trails get muddy or slippery during rain), a raincoat and a sweater (in case of a weather change, and it changes rather quickly in the mountains). I think the best time to visit the park is either June or September, the peak season is in July and August so it's usually quite crowded. The entrance to the park is free of charge, but most cable cars are quite expensive (we went, for instance, to Skalnate Pleso and it was 16 € per person). The car parks cost about 5,5 € per day, and there is (at least was in August 2017) a free car park in Tatranska Lomnica right by the cable car to the Skalnate Pleso.

We had guided tour that took 90 minutes in here. The cave is very spectacular filled with crystal clear lakes and beautiful stalagmites and stalactites. Our guide only spoke Slovak Language but we have received written leaflet in English. You will have to pay 10 Euros extra if you would like to take photos inside but it's worth it to pay it.

The small, but nice ski museum presents lots of pieces of sports history in High Tatras, where myself and my family were part of it. But this is not only a museum, worth visiting when weather does not allow for hiking, but also nice small cafe with delicious Lavazza and poppy seeds strudel. And if you come shortly after opening, you have good chances to see a living legend in mountaineering and ski alpinism.

It's not really a roller coster, but close to it:-) If u like this type of adventures, u should try it. My boyfriend liked it. U can see in the pics how big is the tatrabob. If I remember correct, 3 euro/lap. More laps/more discount.
Enjoy it!
PS: U can even break if you think u're going too fast:-D

Excellent displays exhibiting the flora and fauna of Slovakia. The museum offers some excellent, well preserved animals including large deer, bears and hogs. Also all of the smaller mammals, birds and reptiles. Well framed photos of flowers and even examples of local plants are also represented. Go upstairs to view very fine examples of historical costumes and other examples of the Slovakia culture.
It was a nice rainy day escape for us and cost only a few euros. Go ahead and give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

After some hiking in the area we wanted to do something with more adrenaline. The coaster is not very long, and not getting too fast suitable for all ages. The braves can do almost the entire ride without using the brakes including a sharp decent near the end. Others will do it at their own pace.
We bought 10 rides for 25Euro and enjoyed it very much

Obrovsky in Slovak, also known as Huge Waterfall in Slovakia's neighbours languages. Some 20 m high. It's where Malý Studený potok (Small Cold Creek) finds the threshold of Malá Studená dolina (Small Cold Valley). Visible from a small bridge on Tatranska Magistala - one of the main long distance paths in Slovak part of Tatra Mountains.
