When i saw the castle for the first time I was surprised! The castle was renewed we've got beautiful weather so we could see the Mountains. The Gallery is absolutely awesome and great! I have never seen so many exhibits! The icons, paintings and of course Beksinski gallery. the greatest one and unique in the world. If you are somewhere around YES keep going to Sanok and visit this astonishing place.

Ruiny Warownego Klasztora Karmelitow is the ruins of a Carmelites Monastery located close to the little town called Zagórz, near Bieszczady Natural Park, in the Southeastern part of Poland. The ruins are big, romantic, well-conserved and very beautiful. It is possible to go up to the tower and see fantastic views of the ruins and surroundings. Moreover, it is necessary to do a little and nice excursion (about 15 minutes by walk) to arrive in the ruins. A very good visit if you come to the Natural Park.

We live in Rzeszow so it took about an hour and a half to drive there, but clearly worth the trip.
The season begins May 1, so there weren't too many visitors; no crowds. The buildings were locked.
This place is a bit like the one in Kolbuczowa-but more expansive and worth the extra drive time. Do both, if you can.

For art buffs like us, this museum was a delight. The icon section is very interesting and the contemporary artists on display are not to be missed. Excellent restoration of the castle itself.

Sanok historical museum is located in interesting building, but the best views are inside. There are quite a lot icons and liturgical objects from Orthodox and Greek Catholic churches from different places in Poland, and some paintings, mostly XX century art, but there is also the biggest gallery of my favourite painter - Zdzisław Beksiński with his best works.
