We used this place as a stopover to Lisbon. But what a place. One of the most unspoilt villages I have seen in Portugal and superbly restored where necessary. It's like stepping back in time. No tourist rubbish, in fact we were the only four foreigners in town that night. I'm sure there must be much more to explore than we had time to do. If it's on your way have a look.

The museum of Lanifícios is a part of the university from the Beira Interior.
So it is a museum of science and technology whose intention is to protect and preserve the industrial techniek of painting textiles.
So this is a place who serves persons interested in Museums and technieks.
It´s location is in the centre of Covilha, with no parking near the university just a few places some higher in the street.
On this moment the entrance is free “On Sunday afternoon” and this from June 29 – 2014.
Notice that you are not able to take pictures or made a video into the museum.
You can also visit the church of “Misericordia” not far from the Museum, and when you can find it the “Cheese” Museum, this because my “tom tom” could not find the address indicated on the Internet.

This mountain completes the circle giving the name to the region "Cova da Beira". You need to go and have a walk through the oaks and the pins.

O preço do ingresso é meramente simbólico (Eur 1,00).

Lovely, unique stonewall village, lost in time and with spectacular views to the mountain range. Definitely worth a visit
