Once again, it has been demonstrated to me that the reality overcomes the image.
I knew the Endless Column, the Table of Silence, the Gate of the Kiss...from many photos.
I can say now, that besides them, we feel and philosophize about life. Unintentionally. Automatically.
If possible, do not miss the opportunity to get close to ... Brancusi.
I love Targu Jiu and his people. Love at first sight :) .

This is not a LOVE Kissing Gate, it refers to the Kiss of Death, but not all people know this... It's sad because the authorities are not doing anything in promoting these main attractions Brancusi left us...

It is unknown the exact date of construction of the first church here, probably late 14th century. The position of the monastery is wonderful, on the spectacular Jiu Valley, about 30 km north of Tîrgu Jiu, after the small town Bumbeşti-Jiu. Throughout history monastery suffered a lot; it seems that during the persecution against the Orthodox organized by the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the 18th century was destroyed; then during World War I the civilizing German army destroyed everything, including the cemetery and the archive. Still surviving and today are there two churches, a large belfry, cells etc. There is a small accommodation space for visitors. It is an interesting monastery of historic importance for the Romanians, beautiful, a place of peace and silence in a mountain landscape. I recommend to all who pass by to stop a while and light a candle.

Particulièrement intéressant en famille vous pourrez faire découvrir et découvrir vous même quel était la vie de les campagnes . les bâtiments sont très bien conservés et le prix d entrée est très raisonnable. It is a wonder this beautiful house could survive the Ceausescu-era. It has been renovated and inside visitors can see how boyars (rich farmers) could live before the communist regime. Some photos have been kept and a book has been made with costumes from the region in miniature. Flowers grow around the house where on most days you can also see cows and pigs strolling around. A wonderful feeling to be in what Rumania could have been.
