Its a good walk up the hill from the old town but well worth a visit. Its seems to be off the tourist track so we had the place to ourselves. The 'tin' museum is worth a visit.

Haberstumpf Brewery is a local family run independant brewery located up the hill from the village on the road to Kulmbach. The village itself is very picturesque, typically Franconian. The brewery has a pleasant outdoor beer garden or, if the weather isn't kind, a new stunning Brauschaenke (an indoor bar). The brewery's speciality is their Zwicklbier and let me tell you it's really really good. They also have pils, bock and other home brewed concoctions. They also serve wine, schnapps (dangerous) and proper coffee, cappuchino etc. We've been a few times when we visit Kulmbach and the new Brauschaenke makes it more than just another brewery, it's somewhere to visit for a few hours and enjoy traditional good beer.
We didn't eat here but they do serve 'Brotzeit' and snacks, not full meals (the pub in the village 'Gasthof Friedrich' does excellent meals).
While we were there loads of walkers and cyclists stopped off for refreshments. The views from the beer garden are stunning.
The family who run the brewery are really friendly and the daughter, who runs the Brauschaenke, speaks excellent english.
We were there for the Zwicklbierfest (to raise money for the local tennis club and swimming lake) and it was a fantastic day. Really good atmosphere with traditional music, bratwurst and, of course, beer.
If you're in the area, well worth a visit.

We were here with friends who had a five year old boy, and he loved it. We were there in November and it was quite cold where the locomotives are presented, but still an enjoyable visit. The interactive computer screens are excellent. You can see how the steam engine works and to "operate" a locomotive including blowing the steam whistle. There is a model train exhibit as well. In warmer seasons, there is also a small kiddie train that goes around the property.

A very good museum on beer brewing with a small tasting afterwards. Located next to the Backerie Museum and an excellent beer garden and restaurant.
