Popped in the Abbey on Christmas Eve, it was peaceful and looked beautiful with the Large Christmas Tree all lit up. The Abbey is lovely and clean and has a nice peaceful atmosphere.

A fantastic open space and nature reserve which, if looked after better could be a fabulous place and draw for many people.
Things are being done to improve it. Picnic tables, sculptures to creature a walk etc but still needs lots of attention.
Maybe get some more attention drawn to it and funding!!

Been meaning to write a review for this for a while now. Visit most weekends with little ones for swimming, as on our door step, but have to say the cleanliness off the floors in changing rooms and Seating area around swimming pool is terrible, Worst i have seen. Changing rooms look like they have pools of water / urine everywhere and to say we visit regular i have yet to witness anyone cleaning the floors with machinary or mops or anything, as you do when you visit other places. Seating area next to small pool is poor filth. All around railing posts is thick with dirt and dust. I dont like taking my flip flops off anywhere. Please get this sorted its not acceptable.

A well mentained beautiful park with an abundance of blooms and shrubs. Tarmac paths all through the park. There is a pay and display carpark inside the boundries of the park. And all buses into selby stop along its outer pathway. The railway station is a mere 200 yds so its ideal for people to quietly pass the time away while waiting for transport links. Over most weekends theres an icecream van parked by the park and its very yummy. Theres also a putting green. 2 bowls greens and a play park. Dogs are allowed but not offlead as the park has no fences

Holy Trinity is a small Victorian Parish Church built to serve the rural community of Barkston Ash. Built from local stone the Church itself is modest and simply decorated, apart from celebrations such as Easter, Harvest and Advent. The Church is run by the community and a few years ago a memorial garden was created. The garden, and often the Church are open for all to visit and rest awhile.
Barkston Ash is a small village of only 100+ or so houses and this church is sited right at the centre. It's beautiful inside and out with the peaceful Gardens at the back being well maintained and a lovely place to sit on the benches they provide.
