This hilltop shrine features a well-known statue of the Virgin Mary and a magnificent basilica filled with priceless frescoes and paintings.
During my trip to Czech Republic I have visited this Svata Hora Monastery/Shrine located in Przibram town not far away from Prague.
Very quiet, beautiful and holy place, green holt, where you can see pretty monastery with authentic architecture. Holy artefacts and famous silver sanctuary. Piligrims usually still coming there. Old Vaclav's Oak (hundreds years old!) is growing nearby.
In general - recommend.
Also go downstairs and visit the town of Przibram.

Uranium was discovered at this area of what was then Czechoslovakia, now the Czech Republic. Under Nazi control it was a prisoner-of-war camp, and under communist Russian control after 1948, a forced labor camp—all under the auspices to mine uranium. Czech laborers had no protective garb and most died of exposure to uranium or breathing the gas byproducts. Many of the “workers” were political dissidents, forced to work here because of political or social beliefs.
The monument depicts one person climbing a ladder, presumably to freedom, while other figures are part cement/part metal “skeleton”. This is a sad reminder of what happened not too many years ago. I was nine years old, when the camp was closed, in 1961. And that was not because the communists realized the horrors of forced labor, but because uranium had been depleted. This is not an uplifting memorial, but should be experienced to remind younger generations that political oppression devastates not only economies but lives and societies.

We offer you unforgettable impressions and sensations - excursions by plane in the vicinity of Prague. From a bird's-eye view, you will see how beautiful the little Czech Republic is. Castles, fortresses, Mountains, rivers, beautiful nature. It's a wonderful gift for an anniversary, birthday, wedding, business partners, co-workers.

Just by coincidence we have decided to visit this museum and afterall we have enjoyed it a lot. We walked in the mining tunnel with the helmet on our heads and just with the battery. After that we took one more route by mining train. Great experience.

We provide Skydiving in Prague, Czech republic from 15.000 ft and enjoy 60 sec freefalling. The Skydiving tour with us takes 4 hrs. Complimentary transfers, t-shirt and certificate.
For us, Skydiving was the main reason for our visit. It's far too expensive in the UK.
It was our first time, and we originally booked via another company but had to cancelled due to bad weather and they did not have any other slots for us.
This company was able to take us in just the day before. Free pick up to and from city centre area, and they kindly send us to the airport for our flight back after the jump!
The jump was amazing! We jumped at 4000m. The team was excellent. Very friendly, happy and set the mood right, especially for first-timers. We had a short briefing before getting on the plane. Apart from that, everything was great. The view was awesome and definitely worth the money. We had photos and videos taken as well, so we each had a cameraman filming us the whole time (mind you, it might be embarrassing!).
Cost us CZK5800 for the jump with dvd and photos (approx. £150)! Definitely worth the money!
