On our trip trough China we had the chance to stay 2 days in Linyi and visit the former residence of Wang Xizhi. This park with residence and temples shows an impressive overview of Chinese calligraphy. Be sure to be accompanied by someone who can translate, since international tourism is not very common and guides don't speak English.

Surviving calligraphy on bamboo slips tells the story of battle strategies perfected thousands of years ago by Sun Tzu. Beautiful traditional Chinese architecture houses relics of the Han Dynasty era. If you are fascinated by The Art of War, here lie the original scripted words and instructions of Sun Tzu, miraculously preserved after being submerged in water for millennia beneath the present-day city of Linyi in Shandong Province, China.

A must-see if you wish to experience traditional village life in the olden days of Shandong Province! Beyond the splash of whitewater falls, the park opens into a courtyard, where you may be offered a ride in a sedan chair, carried by smiling ladies dressed in red satin garments. After your ride, watch a team of dancers gracefully interpret catchy music.
Beyond the dance stage, a cool bamboo forest beckons you beyond shops offering hand-made crafted items to a working well, gristmills and a demonstration of cotton yarn being spun by hand. Don't be shy--you can try your hand at spinning a bit of yarn, yourself, and onlookers cheer your progress.
Beautiful stone pathways lined with classic Chinese structures built in the style of earlier times punctuate your stroll through Old China. You will find a spring-fed pool, a splashing Fountain and blurts of gold and orange koi fish swimming in Emerald green water.
Follow quiet paths that wind around and lead you back to the opening courtyard and back out of the park, feeling relaxed and filled with the joy of a simpler life from a by-gone time.
You'll want to return. Again and again. It's worth the drive!

It was snowy weather but the park is very lovely with lots of stone tablets with calligraphy. There is a large statue of the famous calligrapher.

Quite big old Cemetery with crypts and monuments of heroes died in fight with Japanese aggressors in 30th-40th last century. Impressive. With not big museum of military equipment. Interesting to come, see, knew.
