Something magic happend to me during visitting the third church, which is buit over the second church, while I was praying at Jesus'icon; and then, when I was looking at some books in the library, a monk suggested me several things as answeres to some of my inner preocupations, as if he saw through me and knew which were my thoughts,

The Roman castrum Arutela is a historical monument near the town Călimănești. The building lies on the left bank of the Olt River, nearby the Cozia Monastery and the Turnu hydropower complex.
It was built in 137 - 138 AD, and was mentioned until 220 - 223 AD. The fortress was built on the Traian way, the road to the north, to Sarmisegetuza, the main city of the ancient country of Dacia.

The church building was reconstructed on the location of an earlier church within the period 1520-1521. It was founded by Neagoe Basarab Voivode and by his wife, Despina Doamna.
In 1980, on account of the fact that there were initiated hydrotechnical operations on the Olt River, the islet had to be raised to a higher level – more precisely, six metres above the water level – and, naturally, so was the Church of the Ostrov Skete.
The monastery is located in a lovely area, right in the middle of a beautiful widespread park that incorporates forty-seven different species of trees, shrubs and rose-bushes.

Although this is my first review and I live nearby, feeling sorry for writing a negative review, I have to warn other travelers.
I cannot describe in words the conditions there: a small place, overcrowded, with bad personel and high prices. Perfect mix for a bad day (we only resisted for a couple of hours).
First of all, the lines for buying tickets will hit you. The staff is moving slow and, when questioned about the situation, they said that this is it: take it or leave it. Just to understand, I arrived there at about 9.30 AM!!
Then, when finally got inside, the crowd and the smell will hit you again. Basically, we were not able to find a spot anywhere. No sunbeds. No staff to help. You're on your own. We spotted some free sunbeds, deposited in a remote area, and had to carry them under the water slides - the only available spot...
Then, the pools are very small, overcrowded.
Just don't go there! It will ruin your day. Your time and money are far too pretious to spend them there. I'm sure there are other pools in the area.
I attached some photos - just to understand how it is.
