Just along from the pretty town of Sissi we found this attractive stretch of sand where people were snorkeling and swimming or just relaxing on sun beds. and a cafe for lunch and drinks. Perfect with plenty of space to park.

The site of an ancient Minoan civilization, these majestic ruins are surrounded by the beautiful Greek countryside.
Went to site after visiting Knossos. We took the Herakilon bus from Gouves to Malia 2.20 euros each way,bus stops at car park next to site entrance.6 euros entry. Before you start visit the exhibition diary to get an overview of the site and history. Much more of a exploration than Knossos. The workshop are impressive, spent over 2 hours on the site ,well worth the visit.

We are an independent company called the Happy Train that, is on route between Malia-Hersonisoss-Stalis and a half day tour to Krasi or Mochos, day after day, in Crete Greece. All tickets can be purchased from our office in Malia or our ticket booths opposite Ikaros Hotel, Anthoussa Hotel in Stalis area.
Never been so disappointed ! This was the poorest road train we have ever been on. The driver smoked continually or was on his mobile phone throughout the journey - it was unclear where the stops were to get off as he gave no explanation of where we were. The PA system did not appear to work throughout the journey - only at the end when it was time to get off . I wouldn't waste your money - much cheaper to visit malia or hersonnossis by taxi or public transport .we were told you could get on and off the train to explore but this was not the case.

Spent a fantastic week here from the 9th-16th May 2017 and we wish it was 2 weeks at least.
This is an idealic location and a beautiful hotel. The staff and owners could not do enough and even involved us on some really personal evenings eating artichokes in lemon with them and their family.
I can't recommend this place highly enough it was amazing.
Yes the food and drinks are more expensive than other bars and restaurants however, the quality of the food would be hard to beat and the portions of most of the dishes at the beach taverns could easily fees two people.
I was never left wanting for more and although the air condition is also slightly expensive it is necessary and it is standard in Greece to be an extra charge and to be fair the cost of this hotel for half board where the food was also excellent is a very good deal.
Again I can't praise this place enough, beautiful, clean, quiet, AMAZING! We will be returning ♡♡♡

Malia town is very lively and a favourite with roowdy British teenagers. The harbour doesn;t have much tot it except a cheap looking restaurant, The town itself is very commercialised and busy, and the Beaches packed. Its a nice town though with some decent restaurants
