Good theatre, the repertoire is diverse. I go to plays regularly, the last performance of "Romeo and Juliet". Visit, not regret.

My Russian colleagues surprised me with tickets to see the Moscow Atlant play a home game at this arena. Being NHL fans, I and my visiting colleagues were very excited to get to see Russian pro hockey live on a snowy night in Moscow. So here's a westerner's take: It's a large arena, but with 7,000 seats not as large as an NHL arena. There are snack bars around with fresh sausages, breads, pies and soft drinks. It's very family-friendly: There was no alcohol served at all in the main areas. Upstairs there's a restaurant and a sports bar with windows looking out into the arena, and that is the only place that beer is served, and you're not going to take it out to your seats. They had a simple buffet that had two types of sausages, some chicken, fries and bread. They also had an assortment of chips along with a light and a dark beer. We went early and ate in taht restaurant (pictures attached) during warmups and then went down to our seats for the game. It was an exciting experience seeing the Moscow Atlant play with cheerleaders and live music and flags and a different style of hockey- more finesse and less checking than this westerner is used to. There is a gift shop though a door with reasonably priced shirts, sweaters, cups and the like. To me it was such a treat to get to go here.

I know it's a sad tone to take - but I thought I'd let everyone from the UK And possibly the world know that unfortunately it's for Russian eyes only.
I have a huge amount of respect for their achievement (sending the first man into space) and after the opportunity has arisen to travel eastwards, I have tried for weeks and weeks to sort everything out to travel into Russia, to the RKK energiya museum where the capsule of vostok 1 is stored. I even used a Russian translator to write emails and faxes and when they did respond, they said that basically due to security issues, only Russian tourists can visit it. He did say that we can visit the launch vehicle but as I'm sure you all agree this is small money compared to viewing the relic of the last significant endeavour our species has ever done.
I also learnt on my quest that one of the reasons security is so tight is that the museum is situated on the grounds of a working Mission control and factory where they produce their space exploration vehicles and any tour of the place has to be booked a month in advance
Sorry to drag the tone down a bit but I thought its best people know early to avoid dissappointment.
As a parting note - I'd like to stress this isn't a dig at the museum whatsoever - I'd love to have visited and respect their decision to remain clandestine - it's purely information only
