Although this place is a bit off the beaten path, meaning that it does not figure in most tour guides, to me it is the most beautiful place in the Nara/Osaka region. Shigisan is a sacred mountain full of temples and shrines. The paths on the mountain are all sided by granite lanterns, and at night the sight is absolutely astonishing. At Senjuin (one of the temples, who doubles as an inn and restaurant) they serve very good food, and the hostel itself is very cosy (traditional Japanese style). Well worth the visit.

Ishikiri Tsurigiya Shrine is a nice place in Osaka. Take subway to Shinishikiri Station and 5-8 minutes walk from the station to the shrine. After pay respect, please do not forget to visit local market near the shrine. There are lots of stores sale lical products, such as, fresh fruit, fresh vegetable, preserved fruit & vegetable, fresh seafood, japanese candy & snack.

It is recommended to consider as day trip from Nara as it has so much to see.
From JR Oji station wee took one way by train and bus and other way by bus, cable car and Kintetsu line train to return to Nara. It was fan and enjoyed the view all the way through our trip.
From JR Nara go to JR Oji station. Follow the guidance sign at bus station how to get to Shigisan. From the bus stop, Shigi Ohashi walk toward the red bridge to enter the Shigisan. At the entrance of Shigisan, small café and souvenir shop where you can fetch map and brochure about Shigisan, and there make sure to ask how to get other side of bus stop, Shigisan-mon if you wish to take a cable car to return to direction Nara. Once you get to bus stop Shigisan-mon, beware 2 bus lines are there and they go to completely opposite side; one line goes to cable car station and the other goes to JR Oji station. At bus stop Shigisan-mon, no shop neither no English sign so one must ask directly to the bus driver if he goes to cable car station. The view from the bus to cable car station and view in the mountain from cable car is awesome. It was really good choice to take cable car to return to direction Nara.

Watched Japan v Wales in first Test of this summer series, after traveling by train from central Osaka which took an age it was great to get to the ground which is open on three sides with just the one covered stand. The welcome and atmosphere was fantastic and whilst the temperatures were in the high 20's low 30's the fun from the crowd flowed throughout the game. A great time for our first rugby game in Japan.

This place is fantastic, and would be great for families with children, couples or anyone interested in delicious produce: BBQ facilities, a large open grass space, various petting zoos, lots of nice restaurants all using the food they grow on the farm, and of course the pick your own which was so much fun. The quality of available vegetables was great, as was the price: green beans, cucumbers, aubergines, corn, peppers, onions, potatoes as well as fruit. The one downside for tourists might be getting there on public transport: we live in Japan and speak Japanese, so didn't mind negotiating the local bus system and then calling up to arrange their shuttle bus to collect us. If you didn't speak Japanese this might present a problem. I'd recommend taking the train to the closest station you can and just forking out for a taxi. Definitely will be revisiting!

この顕証寺は本願寺であるので戦乱にも対応できるように周囲には二重の掘りがあったといいます。まさに城ですね。
門の彫刻もすごい素敵ですし、見ごたえあるお寺でした。
