A very, very pleasant way to spent a couple of quality hours. Automobiles of every type, and many that I was not even aware existed. Many restore, unrestored and original condition autos and trucks. The aircraft museum is delightful and a must see. Our trip was highlighted with a ride in a 1933 Ford. Take the time to visit this attraction when you are in the area.

Pigeon Lake Provincial Park

Reviewed By Moscato-Mama - Airdrie, Canada

We spent 3 nights at the Zeiner campground on Pigeon Lake. We reserved a waterfront site which was literally steps from the beach. Each of the sites along the water seem to have their own little pathway to the water through a small little area of trees. The beach is not wide but good enough for you to sit some chairs or have the kids play in the sand.
The sites have 30 amp power. There are two drinking water taps along the road to the sites and a sani dump for $5 on your way out (but big line ups) Only a short walk to get to the bathrooms that have running water, flush toilets and coin showers $1 per 2 minutes. The showers however, have no way to adjust temperature and were extremly hot.
There is a day use area with grass, fire pits, a park and a beach. The beach has lots of birds and a bit rocky. The water was somewhat clear one of the days, and the next so brown you couldn't see your hand in front of you. I was rather horrified when my girls came out and we noticed green algae beads all over them. They washed off easily and have had no ill effects as of yet but ewwww!! The water is quite shallow for a ways out.
Many people had their jet ski or power boats anchored right in front of their sites which would be super handy.
There was an abundance of all sorts of bugs during our July stay although the mosquitoes only seemed to be around near dusk. Something that was really neat was watching the dragonflys at dusk for about 10 minutes would be all over the sky, must have been their feeding time and then just like that they were gone.
Cell service was very good.
Check out time is 2pm which is nice to not be rushed to get out.

I went to the track about 5 years ago with my family, and grandchildren and my grandson took a great love of the cars. We lived about 5 hours away at that time so it wasn't something I could bring him too all the time, but we moved to Wetaskiwin 3 years ago and there hasn't been many Saturdays missed. They alway have something new and the races are great. My favorite to watch are the super stock, my grandson loves the modifies and super trucks. It is a family event and we find the volunteer staff to be great.
