We were taken here for lunch on Boxing Day. The restaurant is located up a mountain from a narrow road from Usti and it was just about full when we arrived, managing to sit at the one free table left.
The food is typical Czech. I had the Fried Cheese whilst Mrs FB2000 had a chicken dish ( roulade ). Both were less than 90 CZK but the boiled potatoes and sauces are charged extra. A half-litre of Gambrinus was 28 CZK whilst the Grog was 34 CZK.
The portions were large and filling, and the service was fine. Also, the toilet were clean.
A very pleasant lunch in an interesting location

Litomysl Castle is one of the major attractions of this pretty town. The entire guided tour takes about 50 minutes.
The castle is small but very much fun. There's also a cafe inside. Play the piano which is at the entrance (for free) & entertain others!

The Craft Museum was open on May, 18th 2000. It is placed in the listed area of Novy Dvur from 1750. With the area of 1650 m2, it is the biggest museum of its kind in the Czech Republic. It includes more than 50 compound expositions of crafts and trades from the period 1840 - 1930. Apart from relatively known professions such as a joiner or a woodcutter, work of a tinsmith (an extrusion man), a wheelwright, a cooper, a shingle maker and many others are presented here. The most interesting exhibits are carved mechanical open-air museum of crafts, mechanical workshops, an exposition of saw mill with three functioning frame saws and exposition of a schoolroom with folk costumes. There is also a exhibition called VEHICLE DEPOT which shows historical vehicles. After the tour around the museum the visitors can sit down in a stylish Restaurant Novy dvur, which is placed in the same building as the museum.
One from the best what you can see at this part of the Czech Republic. Many interesting craft sides, mostly from local sources, paradise for children and foreign visitors. Friendly staff and a lot of space for car parking. Short distance from main square in Letograd (cca 300m).

It's the cottage where painter Svabinsky spent many holiday seasons and produced many pictures. The staff (I guess mainly students) spoke good English and was very helpful (on top of the written guide in English), and the trip to the cottage (either bike or hike or bus & walk) is also very nice.

This Renaissance castle from the 16th century is maybe little known but it's surely worth visiting. The castle has lovely facade with sgraffitos and a courtyard with a Fountain. It's quiet place to spend a moment (not much tourists go to this castle) and look at the architecture. Unfortunately I wasn't inside of the castle but I enjoyed the visit with my family. There is also parking lot for cars near the castle.

Town Gallery Litomysl is housed in one of the most beautiful monuments of the town - in the Knights House, with Renaissance, richly decorated stone figured facade. In the interiors, where gallery organized temporary art Exhibitions, is preserved original wooden coffered ceiling or fragments of fine modeled interwindow pillars with remains of the original colors. House was built after 1546.
Very beautiful exterier of the building, but nothing interesting inside of it. Only a very beautiful wooden ceiling. Its normally a place for different Exhibitions etc.

The current exhibition presents more than 150 of the most interesting pictures and statues from the extensive town collection. The story of this collection started more than 90 years ago. The unconventional conception of the exposition will acquaint you with the exhibited works and their connection with the creating of the collection, the history of the region and the most significant sponsors. You will have possibility to see there the masterpieces of Czech art by authors such as Julius Mařák, Josef Čapek, Emil Filla, Josef Lada, Otakar Kubín, František Tichý, Josef Váchal, Václav Boštík and Olbram Zoubek. The accent is on artist with a connection to the town - Antonín Dvořák, Max Švabinský, Josef Matička, Ludmila Jandová či Bohdan Kopecký. You will experience the amazing story of the gallery of a small town in Eastern Bohemia, whose cultural and historical significance crossers its borders.
