The buildings and monuments in Tirunelveli are astonishing. The famous Nellaiappar Temple in particular is a kaleidoscopic feast, an explosion of color and detail that’s supported by musical pillars. Needless to say, it should be on your itinerary. Tour a nearby tea plantation, enjoy the cooling cascade of one of the area’s many waterfalls, or nibble on halwa (a local sweet) while you take in a Tamil film at the Central Theatre.

We visited the temple complex and were impressed with this ancient temple with musical pillars (like in Hampi) and stone pillars (like in Rameswaram).
Not many devotees comparatively and we had darshan without any Q.
Outside the temple, the surroundings are not so well maintained. Still worth a visit to this ancient temple.
Good connectivity with Town bus service from Railway station.

Sea side temple, awesome look . Temple having great history both the history and devotee believes makes this temple more popular, dutches invade this temple and broke and taken away murugan and nagraj idols with them.
Beach side walking gives thrill feel. Sunrise view was aswome feel. Sea breezes and the Holly environment combined make us to relax

One of the six Padaiveedu (Divine base) of Lord Muruga..on the shore. Excellent temple..clean, but crowded on festive days and holidays. Temple management does a good job in frequent clean up.. ferocious sea waves..nice beach..Soora Samhaaram is the best festival known for this place (Demolishing of Demon)

its a small falls with enough quantity of water to take bath. I heard that water will be available throughout the year in this falls and water has medicinal value. Overall an OK kind of falls. When we visited the falls is crowded.
There is decent bus connectivity between Tirunelveli and Papanasanam. However, from Papanasanam, we have to take auto to reach this place (They charge Rs.80/- one way, which I feel is high). Or you may have to catch a bus going towards Papanasanam dam (I heard there is 3 trips of govt. buses available only in the morning) and get down at a nearer stop and walk around 1 to 1.5 km to reach the falls.

This temple is dedicated Lord Vishnu. This temple is located 20 km away from Tiruchendur. This is a very peaceful temple where you can worship with peace of mind.
This temple was built by the owner of famous South Indian restaurant chain "Hotel Saravana Bhavan" in his native.

As the name states water is pearl white here. Situated amidst dense forest range , this falls is a must visit place in nellai district. This is not much crowded like courtallam but the force of water is immense. For entering the falls area we need to get permission from local forest range. Manimuthar dam is on the way . You can enjoy long hours with your family as the entry is limited and tourist crowd is moderate.

The Old falls is around 8km from the Main falls Courtallam . The way to the falls is very beautiful with forested Mountains and green blossoming rice fields to the right and coconut trees, Mango trees to the left. Two separate children pool is in front of the water falls so the falls is favourite far children.
Old Courtallam (Kuttralam as they call in Tamil) is located at a distance of about 8 Kms from the Main Courtallam falls. This place is called as "Spa of South India" as numerous Waterfalls and cascades along with a number of Health Resorts are located here and hence earned the title the Spa of South India.
Further, many seasonal and a few perennial rivers such as the Chittar River, the Manimuthar River, the Pachaiyar River and the Tambaraparani River originate in this region. The falls carry a good amount of water only when there is a rain on the hills.
Unfortunately, during our visit on 19th September 2016, there was no water and we could not any falls here. By the time of our visit, the South West Mansoon appeared to be over. it was hot too and no cool breeze was felt here. We were rather disappointed for not enjoying water falls at this place.
