This is a large year-round, family-oriented vacation destination. We were staying as part of a package that we received by staying at the Ice Hotel.
We took advantage of the snow-tubing, which covers an extensive area and is well maintained and organized.
The hills were good and included various inclines for levels of experience and comfort.
The line-ups for the tubes up the hills were short and efficient.
Overall, a fun experience for couples or families.

We visited here on our Canadian Holiday during a 3 day stop at Alma. The park entrance is about 15 mins ffrom Alma. The intention was always to hire cycles from the park and see how far we could get around Lac Saint-Jean. The cycle track is beautiful and shady in the heat passing alongside the lake and through the forest canopy. There is a long circular route we aonly managed the 15 KM mark before returing with many stops to view the scenery. There are information boards (French onl) around the trail , especially at places where there is a possibility of seeing Moose or Beaver (we saw neither but heard the Beavers and saw the Moose droppings , so they must be there somewhere). The bikes are good quality and lightweight, perfect for the terrain. Insect repellant is required. At the visitor centre there is an interseting shop selling natural and outdoor related products and refreshments available. Adjacent is a lovely clean beach , sometimes with a lifeguard. Entrance was 5.95 CAD eachand we thought that was good value.

We spent the afternoon doing the treetop activity/parcour route. It is a great workout for adults and lots of fun for kids. At the end there is a long zipline to top it off, which is very fun.
It's a good idea to bring gloves because grabbing the cables all afternoon can take their toll on your fingers if you're not used to the outdoors.

A worthwhile experience, much larger than I had expected. There are a wide variety of rooms that can be stayed in although they can also be viewed while walking through the Hotel. There are some fantastic carvings and a bar where you can purchase a drink in an ice glass.
Outside of the Hotel is a taffy shack. If you have never had toffee poured over snow then rolled on a stick then do yourself a favour. It was delicious.
Visit early if you can, our afternoon visit by bus tour was quite busy.

Before coming here, I did my research, saw the beautiful images of this park and read through the Park Guide online. I found the trail map in the Guide quite confusing: with multiple trails of the same colour crowded together, I could not figure out...MoreThank you for your comments!

Chill out at the Hotel de Glace, the only ice hotel in North America, open January to March. It's made entirely of ice and snow. Explore the architectural marvel and its many rooms: Great Hall, chapel, ice slide and Ice Bar.
We had a great tour. We arrived first thing in the morning and had an open to wonder through the hotel before the mass groups arrived. We did not stay over night, but enjoyed our experience very much.

Rented a skidoo from this company without previously checking trip advisor... what a mistake !
Their bikes are nice, but the track is very narrow and they give you no safety instructions and let you go without teaching you signals.
They won't either give you any driving tips and the machines are very powerful. Unsafe without instructions. On these narrow tracks, with locals coming the other way at full speed after a few beers, it's suicide.
I am a professional driver... and lost control of my skidoo at low speed. Not that easy to get the right reflexes when the terrain tilts, without being given proper tuition... The company will argue that it never happened before. Having spoken to loads of locals after the accident, they told me it was unconscious to let us go like that. And that many people die every year from skidoo accidents. If my wife hadn't been at good distance, she could have rammed me right in the back after I fell and I'd be in hospital.
Anyway the worse thing was the behaviour of that company afterwards. The skidoo only had a small bumper damage, and they tried to convince me the whole chassis was crooked. That it needed a full overhaul at the garage before they could rent it. They charged me $430 for the rescue, $300 to tow it to the garage... plus repairs...only I found out the next day they'd rented the machine to the next client.
Disputing the case was to no avail, they had my pre-autorization for $1200 and used $1104 of it and there was nothing I could do. They told me they did me a favor by saving me money, only the garage invoice I received looked strange, and from a company without a registration or VAT ID. I to this date, am still to receive this information.
Altogether a company that is here to make money on you, doesn't give you much of a smile when you're there, doesn't care about your safety, and will hammer you instead of beeing arranging the day things go wrong, so they can make money all the way with you.
I'm so sorry I used this company. Also they sold me 3 hours of skidoo, the better package they said, as the "little hut" is 1h+ away and people like to stop there before coming back... The hut is 20 minutes away driving slow... nice way to oversell...shame on them.
In this hut, 20 locals screaming and singing, completely drunk and smoking pot for most of them... these are the people you cross on the tracks... it's dead dangerous to drive there, really, and with no instruction, it's just crazy.

Located on the Huron-Wendat reservation, the Huron Traditional Site is a unique opportunity to discover the history, the culture and the lifestyle of Hurons of the past and of today.
Built on the Huron-Wendake reservation, this recreation of a typical Huron village of the past features a tepee, sweat lodge, canoe, long house, etc. Entrance fee comes with a half hour guided tour of the history and culture of the Huron. Look out for the huge dreamcatcher hanging in the long house. There is excellent gift store with extensive handcrafted items made by North American Indian nations at reasonable prices. A great place for picking up souvenirs and gifts that are wholly made in Canada.
