Huge beach of North Sea, a lot of people but it's still empty. Surrounded by dunes. Great view of the ships entering or leaving port

Situated in a large glass house there is a beautiful Japanese Watergarden. The garden is decorated with huge rocks and central with a pond with streams and Waterfalls, flowers and bonsai trees. In the pond there are hundres of KOI fish with beautiful colours, you can also feed them. In the garden are different aviary's with tropical birds like the Red an Blue Ara and Japanese nightingales.
When having a party with family, colleagues, your teammates or friends this is a perfect outing. Also when you bring a bunch of kids with ya. Food: plenty of choice for everybody, from sushi to poffertjes (a Dutch traditional kind of pancakeish food). Drinks: common beer, non alcohol juices, soft drinks and wines available. Definitely not the place for a romantic dinner for two. You can eat as much as you like for one price that is based on the time you like to spend here. Parking is free and the Watertuin is easy to reach form The Hagueh, Delft and Rotterdam.

Dreams Surfschool has a laid back atmosphere. Surf classes are available for all levels and Dreams offers special surfcamps for kids. Ter Heijde beach is a sports beach, wide Beaches, quiet and good beginner waves. Parking is free in town. Go for a surf, chill on the beach and finish with a bbq at Jamm Beach (our neighbours)
Was geweldig!

The Mauritshuis is home to the very best of Dutch Golden Age painting. The compact, yet world-renowned collection, is situated in the heart of The Hague, right next to the government centre. Masterpieces such as Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring, The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp by Rembrandt, The Goldfinch by Fabritius and The Bull by Potter are on permanent display in the intimate rooms of this seventeenth-century monument.
Excellent museum with a large variety of paintings. Each room provides another opportunity for more great artwork. We spent a couple of hours observing. You could spend the good part of a day!

This small museum is an excellent place to learn about how the Dutch are the world masters at water defence. Located next to the Maeskering, these are huge gates that close the main Rotterdam shipping canal, the Nieuwe Waterweg (new waterway) whenever severe floods are expected. I'll be honest here and say that I live 5 Kms away and can see these gates from my apartment and in 5 years, they've not closed in anger, though were on red alert, ready to close once. They close them for testing once a year for a 12 hour tide cycle - usually a weekend in September (check the website). It's well worth seeing. The museum is well laid out with exhibits for kids to play with to explain how the Dutch keep the sea out. If you going to / from the ferry, take an extra hour or two and drop by.

Prinsenbos is not a big natural park but it has enough things to do for the kids in nice summer day. Family with or without kids can have a busy day there. In the park has a big lake, good for kids to play with sand and water, or fishing. An interesting stroll around the park to experience the butterfly garden, the herbal garden or the mini bat forest, everything just not so big but enough fun for everyone. In nice weather days, Prinsenbos is an ideal destination for many families, it is very busy.
