A real monument with great works of art: the alter pieces with wings. The church pews are interesting too. Climbing the tower is a treat, because you can see the entire square - one of the most beautiful of the Chech and Slovak Republics.

Church or mosque, I always think dusk is a really atmospheric time to visit. I was there for the evening service and then again next morning, where I saw the longest queue for Confession I've ever seen anywhere. A plain but attractive interior and great acoustice. In my view, though, the real jewel is the outside of the Cathedral

You have to book tickets farly in advance, still in October when the climbing season is nearly ended. The cable car goes every hour, but it takes only 12 persons.
For me it was too risky to book in advane because you dont know how the weather should be. When there are some clouds, it is is totally superfluous to go up, because you will see maybe nothing except fog. In high Mountains you never know, the cloud can come and go quickly. When you can could be sure that the weather will be clear, no more tickets.
They dont like tourists in Slovakia. They rarely speaks english and not so friendly if you are a foreigner. They are mostly waiting for local people.

Slovakia's first national park features dozens of species of plants of animals.
The Slovakian part of the Tatra National Park is by far better organized than the Polish part. There is a train that connects towns such as Tatranska Lomnica, Stary Smokovec and Strbske Pleso in case you start your trail in one place and end in another. The trails are mostly well kept, clean and well signed, and most of the Valleys have a mountain chalet in which you can hide from the rain or have some snack or lunch, and you can even sleep there. Some trails are suitable for everybody and some others are more challenging, the most difficult ones have chains for support. I recommend good mountain shoes (some trails get muddy or slippery during rain), a raincoat and a sweater (in case of a weather change, and it changes rather quickly in the mountains). I think the best time to visit the park is either June or September, the peak season is in July and August so it's usually quite crowded. The entrance to the park is free of charge, but most cable cars are quite expensive (we went, for instance, to Skalnate Pleso and it was 16 € per person). The car parks cost about 5,5 € per day, and there is (at least was in August 2017) a free car park in Tatranska Lomnica right by the cable car to the Skalnate Pleso.

This imposing 12th-century fortress was one of the few Castles that resisted the Mongol attacks of 1241, gradually enlarged over the centuries and destroyed by fire in 1780.
This castle seems to be worth a drive (and small climb) to see it. Also the view from the top of the castle is very nice. A place to enjoy a few hours. It may be a bit difficult to climb inside the castle- so take this into consideration.

Loved our trip to Lubovna Castle, I was surprised how big it was and how well preserved. Castle is surrounded by little village made from cute folk wooden houses, wooden church and farm animals. I would go back!

Jaorzyna has a nice microclimate so it is possible to ski when there is no winter in other parts of Poland. The ski resort is very close to a nice city of Krynica Górska. There are sveral ski lifts and gondole tram. It is posiible to rent ski equipment and hire an isntructor

Just a few minutes from Krynica, were I was staying, you can find the also beautiful city of Muszyna and a few minutes outside Muszyna, you can find the Sensory Gardens. The whole idea of those Gardens is to stimulate your senses. There are constant changes in the flowers-plants that are planted there in order to smell different scents as you walk there. There are other plants wich have leaves with different textures each and which you can touch. There are also other things involving sensory stimulations, but appart from that you can have a really beautiful view of the landscape (which is amazing) and you can have a quiet walk in the nature. Totally suggesting it!

Does not look very interesting from the outside because it is very simple but the inside is really nice, all in wood and with very old paintings, really very interesting to visit.
