We found this place as we were passing through And the whole town come down to the Piazza late in the afternoon to watch the sun set. There's a little pizza restaurant and there was an art exhibit on display whilst we were there. Public toilets are a struggle to find but the view is sensational, especially at and just after sunset.

Baratti and Populonia Archeological Park

Reviewed By BTS1972 - Munich, Germany

Driving there took over 90 minutes oneway on medium quality roads. Once we arrived, we were quite disappointed. While there are several sites combined, we mainly came for the Etruscan graves, of which there is few left. I recommend to better visit Cerverteri, which offers graves of the same style, but more and better. Or go to Tarquinia for late period graves with fine paintings. The major difference of this site is that is said to be the only seaside city of the Etruscian. Concerning the graves that is not important.

I've been going to "Bagno la Capannina " for 12 years now, since I was pregnant with my first child, and it wouldn't be summer if I wouldn't go there! The atmosphere is just what you need for a perfect holiday, the sea is amazing, the owners Fabrizio and Sabrina are very special people who make you feel at home and always look after you, and the life guard Elia has always got a special smile for everybody , working very hard every day to make people feel comfortable .
Bagno La Capannina is very clean , perfect for families with children and for anybody who wants to have great time at the beach. You can use all their equipment , have fun for hours, or simply relax on the lovely sun beds under the cream umbrellas.
Whatever you do, you'll take home a special memory of this place . And I'm sure you'll book it every year like me!

Baratti Beach

Reviewed By terrynev - Yorkshire

Clean and well kept beach set in a lovely bay. Although quite busy, parking was relatively simple and then an easy walk across a flat field takes you right onto the beach. Rented Beds and umbrellas are available but these do not spoil the look of the beach. Worth a day out if in the area.

Bagno Baratti

Great little beach bar. Fresh salads, tasty paninos (though the crusty bread was very crusty) as well as good cocktails. It became a firm regular of ours and though it's always busy, the waiting time was never too long. It has a great vibe and is the perfect spot for sunset - kids welcome too, bonus:)

The Coastal park of Sterpaia offers a number of good sandy Beaches. They are all freely accessible, and there are some sections in which you can hire beach umbrellas and chairs.
Sometimes the water is not that clean, depending on the winds (and the amount of people! Avoid the weekends in Summertime if you don't want to be closely surrounded by people).

Pascia Glam Beach

We spent a week at the beach with our two dogs. The beach is clean with very fine sand and the water is crystal clear. Your furry friends have a ball playing with each other and swimming in the sea. The dog owners are always very careful about cleaning up after their pets. The umbrellas are quaint and you have ample vital space. People with dogs also go to this beach and they obviously love dogs. The owner is friendly and each day give you a bowl and a bottle of water for the dogs and is happy to top it up whenever necessary. A little on the expensive side but this is not a deterrent as it is one of the few dog friendly Beaches in Tuscany. A doggy shower is available for a small token fee but there are no change rooms or at least we were not aware of any. Highly recommended for dog lovers. We will be back!

This place is great. When the sun is shining you can go to one of the numerous Beaches there (starting from Calamoresca and going North, you can find a few like Spiaggialunga, Buca delle Fate...). When it's cold you can still enjoy the Panorama, have a drink at the Gattarossa Cafe..
