Nossa Senhora da Pena Viewpoint

Reviewed By JCN53 - Vila Nova de Famalicao, Portugal

Vale bem as energias gastas.

If you are in Ponte de Lima, it is mandatory to go through the Roman bridge. It is a nice experience to think about all the years of history that this bridge has witnessed. Take advantage of the view of the town for both sides. It is also a great opportunity to take some great photos.

Tui Cathedral

Reviewed By EddPT

The Cathedral is amazing, and it's a very imponent building if you arrive at Tui from Portugal.
You can walk freely and even go on top of a defense tower that has a magnificient view.
The only issue I had was with the audio guide. Sometimes it was confusing and would explain things in one corner of the room and next thing the guide is talking about some thing on the oposite side.
Staff is really friendly.
Really worth the visit.

Puente de Ponte da Barca

Reviewed By Big-G66 - Bristol, United Kingdom

An interesting friendly little town with its iconic arched bridge - much longer than you would possibly expect. Some interesting bronze artwork near the river and some not so interesting metal and plastic 'cut-out' Roman Soldiers near the bank illustrating a legend about Legionnaires being afraid to cross until encouraged by their leader (depicted on horseback on the far bank).
Ample car parking - worth a visit.

If you are looking for an opportunity to lose yourself in a couple of hours reminiscing about your childhood toys and games, take a visit to this lovely museum. (There's nothing digital here!). In addition to being a testimony to Portugal's fantastic toy manufacturing industry, they have some fabulous exhibits and at the end of the main museum tour, a huge train-set - something that children from our era at least could only dream of.

Paco de Giela

Reviewed By KrisMacG - Dundee, United Kingdom

One of the area's National Monument, Paco de Giela (Manor House of Giela) is an archaeological site which includes a manor house which sits on foundations that date back to the early middle ages. The manor house and chapel, and grounds have been restored and visitors can go right inside the remains of the building. The restoration work was very well done. We were lucky at the time of the visit as this site had just opened to the public and we even had a guided tour from one of the staff that was a part of the team of archaeologists excavating and studying the site. Well worth a visit.
