Second visit to the Okanagan and this place was on the top of my list to return to. I certainly wasn't disappointed. Love their wine! Ended up buying 3 of Sunset and 2 white. The staff are comical and make the experience fun for all. Planning another trip next year....I will be back!!

Hester Creek Estate Winery has its roots deep in this province. Our oldest vines were planted in the rich soil of the Golden Mile Bench in 1968. Today, our estate vineyard produces wines that are a lively, intensely flavoured expression of this place we call home. Tucked against rugged desert bluffs on the Golden Mile Bench, The Villa Suites at Hester Creek overlook a spectacular Panorama of lush vineyards and orchards. A luxurious home base from which to explore and experience the Okanagan Valley, our Mediterranean-inspired suites come with comfortable amenities, a homemade, locally sourced breakfast and the best sunrise in BC. Relax on our patios among the vines, browse in the wine shop or dine at Tuscan inspired, Terrafina Restaurant. Come see why Hester Creek is a "True Wine Experience". Open 10am - 7pm everyday!
I was looking for a guest house and found out that Hester Creek has a villa and a restaurant. It was perfect! We stayed only one night at the villa ( was fully booked) and had 3 dinners at the Terra fina restaurant - both...MoreThank you so very much for visiting Hester Creek! It is nice to have guests enjoy all of our amenities. Please do visit again! Warm regards Roger Gillespie Director of Hospitality

Every time that my husband & I go to the southern Okanagan, we make sure that we visit the Burrowing Owl Estate Winery. We enjoy tasting their exceptional wines in their beautiful tasting room. The servers are well trained & friendly. The gift shop has lots of unique items on offer. The restaurant has a patio with stunning territorial views. The food is always exquisite.
When, we were there in September, I was very envious of the guests staying in their guest house. The swimming pool looked so inviting. :)

Founded in 1993 and open year-round, Tinhorn Creek offers one of the valley’s best wine experiences. No matter what your level of wine knowledge, our friendly winery team enthusiastically welcomes you and makes the culture of wine a fun experience.• Tasting Room, Gift Shop, Miradoro Restaurant, Self-Guided Tour, Demonstration Vineyard, Amphitheatre - Concerts & Events, Golden Mile Hike, Picnic Area & Patio, and Wine Club. We source fruit from our own vineyards: 150 acres of prime land on two very distinct benches - the Black Sage Bench and the Golden Mile Bench. The unique characteristics of each bench create the terroir driven wines that are classic illustrations of the place they are grown. Open year round March - Oct: 10am – 6pm | Nov - Feb: 10am – 4pm. Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
As soon as you enter in their tasting room, we were welcomed by a gentleman with a glass of their Pinot gris. He explained us the function of self tour of the winery . After visiting thank room , barrel cellars etc. we went to their tasting bar. We had the Oldfield series tasting( don't remember if it cost $10 and waive with a purchase or if it was free) . We tasted the Oldfield merlot, syrah, their flagship Cabernet franc and the Creek. We left with a bottle of TheCreek. The wine educator was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. the view is stunning. You can also do some hiking, there are performing frequently some Concerts - The set up for concert is marvellous and wish I could do it one day . It must be amazing to listen and watch a show in a middle of vines.. We also had lunch at the Miradoro restaurant. We heard that Tinhorn will be part of the Peller group, hope it will keep their ''cachet'' .

Established in 1959, Covert Farms Family Estate Winery is located in Oliver, BC on 650 acres of benchland. Winemaker Gene Covert is a 3rd generation farmer who worked this land with his father and grandfather. Our certified organic estate vineyards are influenced by the majestic McIntyre Bluff and managed with biodynamic practices. We craft our estate wines with minimal intervention, using natural fermentation when possible to focus on vineyard and fruit. Our white wines display purity of fruit and a crisp natural acidity coveted by growers, and low yields result in terroir-focused artisan reds that are luscious and age-worthy. Those who love recreation dually appreciate our location at the gateway to the iconic Okanagan landmark McIntyre Bluff, which makes a great place to picnic, bike ride or hike. Secrest Organics at Covert Farms operates our seasonal fruit & vegetable stand, and visitors can get their hands dirty in the u-pick section - selecting ripe produce under the summer sun.
Pretty cool Farm tucked up in the hills of north Oliver,BC. Tasting lounge has their product displayed like a market that you can shop for your picnic to enjoy on their patio. They also have an amazing charcuterie platter- my favourite was their lightly pickled zucchini! So crunchy and refreshing. 3 cheese, 3 meats and fresh vegetables. Great space for kids to make a family experience. Their a hiking trail for a spectacular view of the valley. Worth a visit-so peaceful!

Surrounded by desert to the far south, and lakes, Mountains, and vineyards in almost every other direction, the town of Oliver is home to our award-winning Jackson Triggs Okanagan Estate Winery. Here, you get a rare glimpse into the complete wine tasting experience, including unique varietals and limited edition wines only found at the winery.
Recommending a specific location for a wine trip in the Okanagan is like dialing the chevrons on the Stargate. Yeah…wow, I totally went there. I had started thinking about how you need a specific location and then a point of origin, and the connection to that old movie just dribbled to the surface.
My girlfriend and I were on vacation through Okanagan wine country. Over six days, we visited sixty wineries. You can follow our various locations with this disclaimer. That’s sixty wineries, not an exaggeration. We ended the trip with 120 bottles acquired.
Regardless, before a suggestion, you need a point of origin. From the North, start with Kelowna. From the South, it’s Osoyoos. If only rationed a few days, it comes down to those two, with Naramata the real reward for those dedicating more than a weekend to such a vacation. Thus, the BC branch of Jackson Triggs and Inniskillin (copy-pasted from here on because I know I’m going to get the spelling wrong at some point) is bizarre in that it sits away from basically everywhere. It’s the only winery between Oliver and Okanagan Falls, or at least just before you reach the latter. So, unless you’re on an extended trip, it’s unlikely you’ll take the trip.
For us, it was an easy stop between larger concentrations of wineries. We left Osoyoos earlier so reached the complex just before its opening. I can see this place being busy during the afternoon, but at this morning, we had the place to ourselves. Unlike many other wineries in the region, Jackson Triggs / Inniskillin feels corporate, not unlike the Sandhill Winery near the dead center of Kelowna. As such, Jackson Triggs / Inniskillin a tad bit more sterile compared to others. With Naramata, you are most likely talking to owners or winemakers.
Just around the corner sits the colossal steel drums that don’t look dissimilar to the hyperboloid cooling towers of a nuclear power plant (and yes, I had to look that up). Inside, it is mostly dark wood and contrasting ceramic countertops. There is a larger tasting lounge when it gets busy, but for us, it was the standard bar. There was a good selection of wine, though this was a location for the girlfriend, not me. I don’t mind the Inniskillin Icewines, but I have always personally placed the Jackson Triggs at just above mediocre. But if traveling between Okanagan Falls and Oliver, this is a great stopover between more distant locations.

My girlfriend and I were on vacation through Okanagan wine country. Over six days, we visited sixty wineries. You can follow our various locations with this disclaimer. That’s sixty wineries, not an exaggeration. What’s the biggest lesson to take back from it? For one, don’t feel pressured to buy wine from every winery, because you end up trying to squeeze almost a hundred bottles into a tiny Nissan versa note. Once you include the boxes we had shipped, it ended up being 120 bottles. Now that the Wines of BC department of Save On is found basically across the province, there is no reason to purchase outside of those unique bottles found only at the wineries. We don’t regret our purchases; they just made transportation rather difficult.
I will admit not having much expectations from Desert Hills. I had never heard of it before the pre-planning stage of our wine trip. By the end of our visit, it was the only winery we had secured a wine subscription from. That says something. It helped that Desert Hills was the only with subscription option we found appealing. It also helped that the wines being offered were all amazing.
But back to the location, Desert Hills appears quite reserved, with only its picturesque vineyards to add any grandiosity. Tanned ceramic roof tiles are the only mark of pageantry amongst the concrete yards and garage doors. Inside, you are welcomed by an immense tasting room and a very large and lethargic dog that only moved only stealthily position itself in such a way as to trip people when they weren’t looking.
The memorable host greeted us and proceed to blow us away with his charisma and knowledge of winemaking. A consummate salesman, he expertly poured, swirled, and extoled the virtues of his collection. We swallowed everything, words and wine. The gamay was amazing, the unoaked chardonnay was sublime, and the port sold me with the first smell. Ordering a box would have been an easy sell by that point, especially considering it included free shipping with only a six-bottle minimum. However, the aspect of the wine club I liked the most was that we could adjust our order before it gets shipped out—you’re not stuck with what they decide to send you. No one else on our journey pitched it so well.
Desert Hills was the last one we visited on our first day, and I’m happy to report we weren’t getting bored of the experience. When asked which wineries I loved the most on my journey, I admit coming back to Silver Sage with my girlfriend stating Kraze Legz. But we both agree that Desert Hills falls in the top five, as well as the one we often return to when praising the entire region. It doesn’t have a winery built to resemble a wild west saloon; it doesn’t have bell towers or guided tours riding the back of pack mules. It has good wine with good service; what more can one ask for?

Having grown grapes for the last 20 years we have established ourselves as one of the premier award winning grape growers in the valley. Our story started with our family immigrating from India in the 1990's and making Okanagan our home. We have always worked to establish ourselves as hard working and determined family. The name Kismet is derived from the Punjabi word 'destiny'. We consider ourse
Visited this winery with 6 girlfriends in June for a private tasting. The story told of the families start in the area was heartfelt and moved all if us. The restaurant was not open yet but the food we got with the private tasting was incredible. I cannot wait to make a trip back. Really good price point on the wines.
