Besides incredible ski conditions, Mayrhofen is known for its epic annual Snowbombing festival, a weeklong celebration of electronic music. The world’s premier DJs and electronic artists flock here to dance, party ski, and revel in Mayrhofen’s magical atmosphere. Where else in the world can you tour a cheese factory, show your snow art appreciation, embark upon a torch-lit evening hike and snuggle up in an igloo hotel, all in a single day?

There is a walking track along the river from Mayrhofen to Hippach (5 km) with funny wooden sculptures all the way. It's an easy walk no matter how young og old you are. No excuse, off you go.

The Penkenbahn is great. New. Clean. Efficient. Make sure that you go to the Shop/locker room at the top. When we were there (July) they had a visual that looked like silhouettes of people taking a shower. Very clever. Very innovative. Walk up/ take other lift to the top to get lunch.

Nice ski area, good modern lifts no problem there. Expensive 5 days in excess of 220 Euro.
Ski-slope numbering’s could be better, more consequential not misleading people unfamiliar with the area.
Biggest concern is with rude unfriendly staff at Ahornbahn counter, totally non customer friendly. Basically a tourist is only good to spending their money.
Never park at Ahornbahn/Penkenbahn parking area, it is supposed to be free of charge for skiers with valid ticket.
Surprise surprise when U fail to take Ahornbahn and took-other lift (Penkenbahn) in the area the ‘free of charge’ is not valid and a rip-off fee of 18Euro/Day is charged. No arguing, no nothing , no excuses, apologies nothing... As Tourist one has to pay and swallow, total disgrace.

It is worth it to drive some up some narrow one way tunnels to enjoy some stunning views of a huge dam and lake behind that is surround by majestic peaks.

Booked a lesson last week for three good intermediate skiers looking for a refresher/improver course. We were allocated Ivan who was excellent helping all three of us with different needs. Ivan was easy to understand, demonstrated what he was teaching us and made the lesson interesting either by including Jumps and tricks for my son, or finding us some perfect powder at the end of the lesson. We were so impressed we went again. Lesson was a bit more technical but again we left with improved technique. Lesson was broken up with trips through the snow park to add variety for my son. Cant recommend more highly

In the adventure pool Mayrhofen you will find fun and relaxation for all ages. Outdoor pool in summer, indoor pool and sauna for relaxing during summer and winter. Pure Wellness in the Zillertal
Our young kids 9 & 11 and even us enjoyed the indoor water slides. The water in the indoor pool is warm, about 28C and the pool is clean and nice maintained. A wander full place to end the day with. If you stay in some hotels in the area you get a 3 hours free entrance per day.

We spent a week, predominantly with Bo and Fraser. Private lessons for 2 of us, and a week in group for the kids. Skiing improved so much in the week, and every day was fun with these guys. Good instruction, great lunch spots, saw so much of the region, and then had a few apres ski beers after too. Can’t fault them, all helpful and looked after us whenever we wanted anything.

Our family of four spent one night at Berliner Huette, as part of our Berlin High Trail Trek. It is a beautiful, historic lodge set in the Austrian Alps, with stunning views of a glacier and the snow covered Mountains. It is easily accessed on foot by either the trail or a dirt road which winds out of the valley, accessed on foot (no transportation options). It is a large huette, with delicious food, comfortable lodging, clean bathrooms (showers on timers with tokens), and a helpful staff. It is a lodge for outdoor enthusiasts, climbers and hikers, due to its difficult access. Well worth a night's stay! They only accept EUROS- no credit cards!

The Zillertal area is probably the most visited in the Tirol and you can see why it has everything to offer to much for me to mention in this review so to check it out visit the zillertal website, one of the best things about the area is the zillertal card which gives unlimited rides on the train, buses, and gondolas, this year is our 6th year 2018 and we have still not seen all it has to offer.

The 'Parish Church of the Assumption', centrally located in this picturesque Ziller Valley town was originally built in the 14th century but was destroyed by fire sometime between 1509 and 1590. In 1740 the nave was rebuilt. In the late 1930's the church received renovation. The green of the church tower symbolises its belonging to the diocese of Salzburg and is the oldest remaining part. In 1971 a large picture named "Rose of Jericho" was painted on the ceiling. A legend tells that this rose only blossoms on Christmas night.
