Its a real long and bad ride to the Atuh Beach parking lot. There are two ways to go here from the junction where you see the signboards...the straight/right turn takes you to the one with steep steps and the left one to a steep trek of about 20 minutes.
We were glad we didn't go down to the beach as the rains caught up with us and it wouldn't have been worthwhile.

See Indonesia in One Afternoon! Taman Nusa is a cultural park that aims to offer a comprehensive information on the cultures of Indonesia's various ethnic groups in an attractive and interactive way, while enjoying the natural beauty of Bali.Situated on 15 hectares of land, visitors are invited to explore and experience Indonesia's journey throughout the ages beginning from the prehistory, bronze age, kingdoms, and an archipelago of Indonesian cultures. The journey continues to the early national era, independence, modern times and finally to the nation's future.
The entrance fee was steep. Place is well maintained and very clean. Interactive exhibits, some full sized models of traditional tribal houses. Emphasis seemed to be on more 'exotic' ethnic groups. Our guide spent a lot of time on the Papuan people, their housing, way of life etc. She gradually lost interest as time passed and we made our way to the exit.
The different entrance prices were not explained to us and we were sold tickets that included a 'free' drink, dressing in a native costume and a 'free' key chain. Not free and absolutely not worth any extra cost.

Trekking in Sidemen to see beautifull rice Terrace
Pick up at our hotel at 0800 in Candidasa. 50 minutes drive in a beautiful landscape. Almost 3 hour tour with Komang was informative, comfortable and also funny. We saw also wildlife.
My son of 17 was very enthousiastic because it is a little bit challenging to walk, a lot of information and he and the guide talkes also about the live at Bali, house music and DJ's
Tip: you cross rivers, are walking at very small paths. Dont take children along too little and have a little bit nerve and condition.
Wear Teevas by example

Geko Dive first opened in June 1997. It is the longest operating dive centre in Padang Bai. Geko Dive has been a PADI Resort since 1998, and is now a PADI 5 Star Resort and TecRec facility. We are fortunate to have one of Bali's best dive staff. Together, the Geko Dive Team can guide and teach in Balinese, English, French, German, Spanish, Indonesian and Japanese. All of our dive guides are excellent divers, with years of working experience on Bali's dive sites. At the same time, SCUBA remains a passion first and foremost. Diving with Geko Dive has always been fun and serene. To make sure that it stays this way, we are not planning to get any bigger than we already are. Dive factories and diving in large herds are not things that the Geko Dive Team enjoys. Diving should be a personal experience! We therefore keep dive groups small (4 max and often less), with similarly experienced divers together. We believe all our guests deserve the ultimate diving adventure with utmost enjoyment and safety.
We just passed our nitrox certification with them and it was perfect. Cedric our instructor for the courses was really professional and didn't hesitate to teach us more than the basics required for the exam. The welcome was really warm fully.
Made our Divemaster for the 2 dives was kind and managed our dives perfectly. The crew on the boat were really nice.
Thank to the team!

This is the best Balinese Theatre Show around.
The choreography and costumes were very well presented and colourful as ever.
Absolutely shows off the Balinese culture and Indonesian traditions in all its grandeur.
Make sure you only get the show and nothing else as the others are simply a waste of time and money.

This place was not on our itinerary, but were thankfull, that our driver guide took us there. It is located in Klungkung and was part of the Klungkung palace complex previously. The town and place was not crowded, therefore quite and peaceful. There was a parking area just across the road. Kertha Gosa means 'the place where the king meets with his ministries' to discuss questions of justice.
The main structure here, is a central pavilion which is surrounded by a moat with water plants, mainly lotus, floating around. There are numerous murals on the ceiling which according to our driver guide were in reference to the Hindu epic Mahabharata. Some of the murals depicts the various punishments that await bad people in the afterlife as per Hindu beliefs. There are pavements to walk around the moat with a lot of intresting sculptures and plants. The semarajaya museum which is nearby was however closed.
i would recommend that if you are in the vicinity, then a visit here, is called for. Bring along a cap, water bottle and sun block. Camera is a must.

I was alone diving with three man :-) very high brave! :-) I like the willingness and openness of a common agreement-how communicate better. I do not know speak English well and I do not even heart it. Perfectly fine-tuned, there was a magic scuba diving up to the cave, a beautiful coral garden and a shark.
Now: please... I pray, I and we clean the magic Sea world for future generations. Thanks :-)

The most interesting to see in this historical building is the classical paintings on the ceiling depicting the journey of Bima, one of the five Pandawa heroes in the afterlife to look for the souls of his father and stepmother. During his journey in hell, he shows us so many punishments for the wrong doers. In the eyes of the Balinese these are the life after life. scenes on the lower parts are all punishments in hell but the good people will get happiness shown on higher paintings in heaven. The story used to be performed on the occasion of cremations in Bali to remind the people to do good things in this world.
