Discover Yorkshire with Brontë Walks. We offer tours, guides and so much more to make your visit to Yorkshire a memorable one. I am a Blue Badge Tourist Guide for Yorkshire and my love of the county and in particular Haworth and the moors that surround it is the inspiration for my work. I offer a wide range of guides walks, tours, support for tour companies, meet and greet services, day tours, drive tours and extended tours across the whole of Yorkshire. My job is to help you discover Yorkshire and all that it has to offer. The ‘Passionate Brontës’ is our acclaimed walking tour of Haworth that tells the story of the Brontë family. I use their letters, poems and writing to weave the story into the social fabric of the times. This is offered as either a scheduled walk that all are welcome to join, or as a private tour. It is the most wonderful prelude to visiting the Parsonage Museum. The times for these walks do vary and it is best to check when they are running.
One of the highlights of our trip to England was our visit to the Parsonage, home of the Bronte family. Experiencing the environment and walking the steep cobbled street where the Bronte sisters, 19th century Literary icons, walked was magical. At the Information Center, however,...MoreThank you for your lovely review. I am glad that you found the walk and that you enjoyed it so much. It is such a good story to tell and one that I enjoy telling. Best wishes, Johnnie

The trains ran regularly the weekend we were there. You can get a great photo on the bridge just outside the station. It does get busy with photographers but it is still possible to get a great view of the trains as they come in...MoreThank you for your nice works. By the sounds of it you came over out spring steam gala. On a normal weekend we don’t usually have that many photographers. Hope to see you again soon.

The Brontë Parsonage Museum is the former home of the world's most famous Literary family and the place where Charlotte, Emily and Anne wrote some of the greatest novels in the English Language. The house evokes the atmosphere of the Brontë's time and offers visitors an unique insight into their day - to - day lives and varied interests. The rooms the Brontë's used are largely unchanged and are filled with a world-class collection of furniture, clothes and personal possessions. Whether you are a fan of the Brontë's writing or simply intrigued by remarkable people and their stories, you will find visiting the Parsonage an absorbing and unforgettable experience.
Having visited Haworth for many years this was our first visit to the Parsonage.Lots of History and interesting things to see and with young children you can dress up in authentic clothes.

This was it! the one thing we challenged ourselves to do... and we did!
With a 50p map in our hands we set off for one of the most important walks we have ever done, not a clue what was in store for us but found the walk first to the Waterfalls which is en route so scenic and jaw dropping we forgot how far we had walked.
After the Waterfalls came the little tricky part uphill slightly and quite rocky but after you get past that bit its fairly simple pathways. The rain had started falling by the time we got here but call me weird but i don't think it would have had the same effect if the sun had been shining, we did take our rain coats with us so didn't care it all just added to the ambiance and the eerily feel of Wuthering Heights.... if only i had a long dress on and was calling Heathcliffe....
The walk took around 4.5hrs return to Haworth that was in pouring rain and stopping a while under the tree by the ruin, if you can make this walk after the waterfall do it! walk in the footsteps of the Bronte Sisters....

If you are visiting the Bronte Parsonage Museum you will want to see the Church next door even though we discovered it is not the one where Mr Bronte was the parson, that church is long gone. However, there is a memorial to the Bronte sisters within the church and a headstone to their mother and siblings in the churchyard.

Pleasant walk to the Waterfalls but large sections on the road coming back. Nice scenery on the way but signposting is not great. However you will meet local people on the walk who are really friendly and happy to direct you. Waterfalls are somewhat tame but the walk itself is quite nice overall.

Wonderful handmade chocolates from Belgium, England and Wales. Please note, closed weekdays during January; First chance to sleep since well before Christmas!
The owner is really charming in the nicest possible way and the chocolate is wonderful as well. If you walk up Main Street another lovely staff member gives away pieces of chocolate to the public and it is gorgeous.

At the top of a steep and narrow street paved with cobblestones is the Black Bull, which has the typical atmosphere of a British Pub, with excellent counter meals and Dart contests on scheduled nights.
We chose this place for our evening's entertainment for the one night we stayed in Haworth. With the beer being in keeping with the rest of the village (generally old style ale), we settled in for the quiz. Unfortunately, some drunken hags pretty much ruined the night. A real shame they weren't shushed earlier.
