Its a 2-3km trek...but by God, its mindblowing. Its quite easy which my father(64 yrs, underwent a cardiac stent placement 5 yrs back) and my mother (61 yrs) could complete without breaking too much sweat. And they both admitted...it was a experience of a lifetime.
It starts off with a whole lot of stairs, but dont get scared, take it slow, allow ur body to acclimatize, make adequate use of the benches provided, or the lush green grass to rest. As u climb higher and higher, u will get a 300 degree breathless view of the Himalayas. Once u reach the top of the stairs, its a flat path...with gentle slopes.BUT, the surprise doesnt end there.
As u walk along, u will encounter snow on either side, every turn will be greeted by a new and visully stunning Panorama of the Mountains, u will forget all tiredness as u walk along and reach the temple.
U can also cross the temple and have ur adequate fill of snow as the slopes are fully snow covered.
Its a must visit place, take ur family along, dont get scared or disheartened, just reach the top of the stairs...and after that its plain sailing (or should I say plain walking :P)
We encountered a lot of people gasping beside the steps, on the verge of giving up...but they all went the whole distance.
It took us about 4 hrs to reach the temple and back.

Sach Pass trek, is certainly not for the faint hearted. A rugged, treacherous and high altitude trek with breathtaking scenery, where landscape changes at every other bend.
We reached Pathankot at 4 AM by Jammu Rajdhani from New Delhi, from where we hired a car to reach Trella via Teesa on Chamba route. From Trella we started our trek at 1 PM and reached Bhanauti Primary School at 6 km uphill, where we had our stay overnight. Kishorilal (+919805198939) who is a staff of that school agreed to become our guide. The landscape till here is all lush green.
Next day, we did a 15 km trek to reach a cave beside Bajaffarnallah stream near Satrundi. One can have night stays at camps of Satrundi in trekking seasons. However, since we went there on first week of November (ideally not the right time), the camps were dismantled and we thus had to halt at the cave for that night. Stay at cave however, was real thrilling. The greenery somewhat diminishes here. It was basically a kind of bounder zone with sparse vegetation.
3rd day, we started early morning. As we moved up, treeline virtually ended, and the landscape was rugged, but stunningly beautiful. Oxygen level diminishes as the altitude is high. We luckily got a lift in an ambulance jeep and thus was spared a few kilometers walk.
We finally reached Sach Pass around late afternoon. That ambulance was kind enough to drop us at Killar village after crossing Sach Pass.
Sach Pass is stunningly beautiful. Treacherous, rugged, but with mind-blowing scenery. A trek there can be of lifetime memorable.
Recently, however fewer people go for a trek, as road has been built. So one can plan to go by bikes or an SUV. Neverthlessr, one must go with full preparations keeping in mind that its tough one and not for the faint-hearted. Best time to go is from June to October

An old Catholic church built in 1909 under the British-Indian army, located at Subhash chowk at an elevation.
The church is in perfect condition and surrounded by beautiful pine trees.
The church is deemed to be one of the most beautiful churches in North India. It has been more than a century since the church was built, but it still holds amazing magnetism and charisma. I visited twice during my stay ...
The church can seat approx 300 people on a Sunday prayer.
Must visit when you r in Dalhousie.

Gandhi Chowk is the city center or downtown of Dalhousie and is clearly struggling to retain its small town charm due to ever increasing volume of tourists either passing by or stopping over for a quick break. It’s essentially a marketplace where you can eat, shop and hangout. Check my other review on kwality restaurant which we loved. We spotted some good collection on wooden articles and gift items. Overall this city center is worth a stroll if you’re in Dalhousie.

The alley beginning with the Mall Road extends along the hill side towards Shubhash Chowk. As sun shine is there along the road people enjoy this walk particularly during winters. However while the nature has given beautiful environment, upkeep along the road is poor.

Over all the entire area of church and its surrounding natural beauty is very peaceful and simply superb. Just visit the church and then rest in Subhash Chowk to keep the immemorial experience with you.
