This authentic main square with buildings that have lovely balconies looking out on it takes you back in time.
The buildings are irregular shaped which adds to authenticity and there are bars and shops looking onto the plaza which during the local festivities, doubles up as a bullring.
A market is held weekends in mornings (check whether both Sat and Sun) offering locsl produce and goodies.

Amazingly large from outside this church overlooks the city, next to Torre del Reloj offering great view over the city and Plaza Mayor.
Interior of the church is beautiful, offering some early work of Goya. The church dates back to end of 15th century, so you can feel generations visiting church and participating mass. You can too, it is an active church.

A very well displayed group of artifacts. It has the feel of a small county historical museum we would find in the US, with artifacts, clothing and tools of the period. Rooms of the period arranged as they were used give an interesting glimpse into the past. Well worth a visit.

The tower is full of small holes, which original purpose is unknown to me viewing from outside, but pigeons have found them useful.
Tower is located few hundred meters from Plaza de Mayor, next to theatre and church Iglesia Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion.
From the tower opens magnificent view over the city towards the castle.

Had a breakfast here today on a rainy Sunday. Coffee was good; churros warm and fresh and staff very chirpy but no English spoken. €3 for 2 coffees and churros. A little more welcoming to strangers than some cafés around the Plaza.
